Also, please let me know when American society has reached a point where such a person would be supported enough to be electable. Getting elected is an important part of the equation.

No. Because voting for 'not as bad' is why we're in this mess.

It's time for real change, not just a different color lapel pin on a suit that still does the one percent's bidding.

Vote Progressive. The Democrats can even take credit for them if they want, as long as they effect change, including (but by no means limited to) the ones on @Padawanbater2's list.

Other countries have those benefits for their citizens, why can't the richest nation in history afford to do the same?

If you are young and healthy the point is moot but if you are elderly or not healthy wouldnt it be nice to have no bill. My wife had about half a million in health care treating her cancer and my bill was zero. Awesome eh. The bill part. Cancer sucks giant monkey balls.

America can do this for its citizens. Because we allow the rich to control our government, we're told we can't afford it. Apparently tax cuts for the upper crust are more important than the health (and education) of our citizens.

Lockheed Martin is a major corporation. They do not run the same business model as Walmart. Northup Grumman another corporation. Boeing same...Fuck Trader Joes min is 13 and hour. I could go on with more examples but why. Are your biggest fucking dreams are ringing up other grocery's or stocking fucking shelves
