The demise of Barney's Farm Dr. Grinspoon

I haven't seen it in stock on the usual seed banks in a while and a friend is on the hunt for it. He discovered that they are discontinuing the strain and only selling the remaining stock retail on their website. They don't ship to Canada or the USA though.

Anyone have these beans or know where some are?

i was also wondering about this strain. i never see much about it yet it is so unique. why has nobody bred with it i wonder. i mean i have seen ppl breed with other oddballs like duckfoot or aussie bastard cannabis i wonder why no dr grinspoon crosses. it can't just be the flowering time ppl tame other old cultivars like thai and congo why not this one? perhaps it passes along the bud structure too often and proves difficult to breed out. it would seem tho to me some vigorous hybrids would pop out given the fact it likely has not many genetics in common with any other strain i am aware of. my understandingis hybrid vigour is always better the further apart plants are genetically. you got any input or insight on grinspoon?

Not very good, people grow to say they did, it’s like calyxs instead of buds. I think it can go 16-19weeks

That was my impression by looking at photos. It would be alright if you plan on making extracts or edibles. Rolling a J I think would be a pain in the ass.

i read one legit grow report and that person pulled it at 85 days and said it shoulda bee pulled at 80. i found that very surprising tho they said they watched trichs turn amber so idk coulda been a faster pheno who knows. the buds are little calyx like balls. i think most ppl knew that going in. that was not a secret. the yeild is surprisigly good as well fromthe report i read. now to be clear i don't beleive this report fully because if it were the norm more ppl would be using it. i just never hear any real bad experiences or good ones. it's just kinda not being bought and grown. you would think ppl would grow one just for novelty i would if i didn't have to order em over seas, but the novelty is not worth the trip thru u.s customs

I have grown this strain one time. We did not know at the time what it was. It produced horribly, imagine pollen sack harvest. - I feel i should explain...at the time it looked like a vine of small single calyx pods, twining around the stem? Totally fucked up and not at all like weed flowers look like. It kept going like 4 weeks beyond anything else on the table at the time.

It was super duper strong. As it should be considering you need to grow a city full to get any weight.
