I think the proper term is "voyeur"

Damn dawg, you and brother curly are making me consider trying out a scrog in my near future. Beautiful ladies, the love they are getting from you is certainly showing!

Yes, that's exactly what i've been looking at in videos and grow journals. What went wrong and how to remedy the problem.

Question, how do you like growing DWC? Do you find it easy or can it be a hassle for you?
I Find It Much Easier Than Soil Because You Have More Control Over Your Grow And Its Not As Messy.I Would Also Go With A WaterFarm.I Will Be Putting Up A DIY W/F With Attached Screen In This Thread This Weekend.

I'm obviously not replying for Dawg, just to tell you what I faced with DWC. It's great, the major problem I had over the summer however was the high water temperature. Ambient temperature was at about 35C which was bringing my water temp at about 32C and that's a pain in the ass. You can solve that with a chiller, but that's way out of my budget. Instead I took an old fridge, opened up a couple of holes and put my airpumps inside. Water temperature went down 4C.

Nice grow Dawg, subbed for the finale :)
Thank You Brother Bluezdude.I Have Central A/C So I Can Control My Ambient Temp's.I Also Run A Tea So I Dont Worry About My Res Temp's And Theirs No Need For A Outside Chiller. My Teas Range is 72-82 Degrees With 75 Being The Optium Temp for My Bennies.

Interesting and such a very brilliant technique to keep the water cool. Of all the strategies I've read of, that's the first time seeing that one. Even better that it worked. How are yields or grow times compared to other mediums in your experience?

I'm going to go do some reading on that now. I don't think I've come across that term yet but i'm interested to see as many set ups as possible so, that's awesome. I shall be checking that out as well

Edit: I looked it up. I like it, I'm intrigued as to how it compares to the buckets or is it negligible.

Don't have that much experience to answer that yet

Heis I moved away from DWC for a variety of issues, not the least of which is that it requires too much water. My DIY 21st Century F & D only uses 2G, in an outboard rez which makes replacing/flushing a breeze. I find I need to adjust pH ~ 3 days and replace with fresh nutes every 7. That's hard to do with DWC

These are some of the qualms I've been reading about. While people seem to love the growth rate and such, the maintenance can be time consuming. I think i'm going to try just one 5 gallon dwc bucket to try out first when i get started. Where i've really settled upon is using coco.

hey heisenbud if your interested i just built a brand new water farm from scratch yesterday. all it requires is a 5 gal bucket, a 2.5 gal bucket, some 8mm tube, an 8mm elbow and grommet and an 8mm t-piece and an air pump. took about 10 mins to build if you have a cordless drill. if not ask at your hydro shop they probably have one they will let you use.

i could snap a few shots and run you through construction

In my 5 gal homemade water farm the res is actually only the lower half of the bucket and is about 2 - 2.5 gal. there is a drain tube on the side so you simply turn it over and all the water drains out in about 10 secs. the larger the tube you use the quicker it is obviously. then just add fresh nutrient back through the top. really couldn't be easier.

i do a res change once a week and i usually have a little left over nutrient which i keep in aerated bucket. then i just add back fresh water through the week but if my ppm's start to look a little low i just add back from the left over nutrient mix. my ph stays dead stable all week. in fact i can't remember the last time i used ph up or down in this grow. not even when mixing my nutes up. i find with the low ph of my tea and the high ph of silica and then the buffers in gen hydros flora nutes they seem super stable.

This sounds like a well oiled automated system. I'm going to be checking it out immediately as well. I do appreciate all of the information all, It's great addition to my ongoing research.

Aye, do your own hydro mate, it's a pity to pay good bucks for plastic parts you can make yourself for a fraction of the price.
