That seems a little buggered. But these devices are not military grade. You can expect deviations of +/- 0.1, so those numbers don't seem out of reason (at least for my meter)
I have an old Hanna (just pH), but I recently got a new Cheapo Chinese (looks like a Milwaukee) and calibrated it with Blue Labs 7 and 4. I've been finding I get weird readings, too (mostly due to slow response). I'll put the meter in a glass of tap water (pH 7.1) and then when I dip it in my mix, and go back to the water (after rinse), it usually reads low, but then it adjusts after a minute or so.
I'd like to get my Hanna back in operation so that's why I was wondering what the cleaning solution was.

I don't know why you'd NEED to use the Hanna solutions to calibrate, unless they were sneaky and made their self-calibration to operate at different pH levels (under the guise of being 7.0 and 4.0). I used to calibrate mine with whatever the local hydro shop had (they made their own solutions). I never had any problems...
Now that I think of it, doesn't someone use 6.83pH for calibration?

But I wonder about the bulb on mine. It is OLD, and I figured it would be useless after time (even though it's been stored properly).
How old is your meter now? It looks pretty beat up from what I remember (the black one, no?). Kind of like your scale!

Hanna meters are the cats ass. It was $150 just for a fucking pH meter, but I've gone months without calibrating it, then dunking it in a 4.0pH solution and a 7.0pH solution just to get perfect results.

Yup, I'm rocking a Hanna TDS pen, and a continuous monitor of their's (only goes to the tenths place, but accurate)

I have had my pen for over two years, calibrated 3 times, checked a couple more.

Juat bought myself the Cont. a little under a year ago, calibrated once, always checked with the pen.

So far.. Hanna's good in my book.

Probes are only like 35 bucks dawg, though i will say the Continuous Monitor is one of the best investments anyone can make.

Just walk in... Scope that shit... Check out the ladies..

i recently got one of these after my hm digital ph-200 that was going strong for over a year began to take forever to give measurements(would drift down slowly for 20 minutes)

so far im liking it but the fact that i went from a pen meter to this thing with a giant ass screen and yet somehow lost a decimal place is really annoying. why have a giant screen if its only going to measure to .1 and not .01 like my old pen did. also havent gotten around to calibrating it yet to see how well it holds onto calibration but my old ph-200 was calibrated 3 times during its ownership and was in check each time. also annoyed that it doesnt auto calibrate like my old pen. but atleast this does ph, tds, and ec which is cool.

Well, if I can get my Hanna running--which would be a miracle on its own--then it would be a an interesting test because if 2 years is garbage, then imagine 10...

EMERGENCY EDIT: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

So, I decided to yank the batteries out of my new Cheapo Chinese and slap them in the Hanna (batt 95 was the reading)
I looked up the manual for this old red beast and followed the steps for 2 point calibration.

And the result? Now keep in mind this meter is 10-15 years old and I never replaced the bulb, but stored it well if not properly.

First the 7.0 calibration

Then the 4.0 calibration and back to normal mode

Then back in the 7.0 to see what she says

And there you have it... A fossilized Hanna that STILL WORKS!

Of course, how long will it hold? I think I'll test it out for the next while, and let you know

Thanks My Brother For Yalls Input.First Let Me Say That I Love My Pen And I Would Love To Buy Meters That Are Permently In The Res But I Do Multipal Grows And My Pen Is The Most Bang For My Buck.Now I Do Have Another Probe And I Switched It Out With My Old 1 And Guess What The Difference In The 2 Probes Was .02.So My Guess Is The 4.01 And The 7.01 Are Off And Im Not Going To Worry About It :eyesmoke:

Dawg, I was just wondering (after re-reading the instructions), is it possible your pen is setup for NIST calibration?

To enter the Setup mode, press the /MODE button until
CAL on the secondary display is replaced by TEMP and
the current temperature unit (E.g. TEMP °C). Then:

for °C/°F selection: Use the SET/HOLD button. After the
temperature unit has been selected, press the /MODE button
to enter the buffer set selection mode; press the /MODE
button twice to return to the normal measuring mode.

to change the calibration buffer set: After setting the temperature
unit, the meter will show the current buffer set: pH 7.01
BUFF (for 4.01/7.01/10.01) or pH 6.86 BUFF (for
NIST 4.01/6.86/9.18 ). Change the set with the SET/HOLD
button, then press /MODE to return to normal measuring
mode.

Nope Its Set For The Standard 4.01 and 7.01.

According to the website, it's 155w in Flower and 120w in Veg (Actual Draw +/- 5 watts)
