The clock is ticking...

Hello folks.

So I'm starting a new run as soon as humanly possible and my seeds (from overseas) are running late. I'm not totally convinced that they won't arrive, but I'm strating to wonder... I have a time frame mapped out that I can't deviate too much from so I'm looking at other options.. don't have access to clones at the moment so my options are... Order domestically ( I'm thinking of OES) , run the seed I have on hand (a super silver haze bag seed) or contact the company I ordered from and try to get a re-ship and risk messing up my time table. What do you all think?

I should mention that the bag seed option is not my favorite... I'm looking to grow an indica/indica dominant hybrid for the effects and grow time so the SSH would probably not work very well in this case...

Check Craigslist for clones or run what seeds you have .
Do what you have to do .

Imho trying to grow on a strict timetable never works out well.

It isn't super strict, but the better part of a month it would take to get anything from the original source is just too much... I have 2 to 3 weeks of wiggle room. I know it's not ideal, but it is what it is.

My suggestion would be grab some domestic seeds shouldnt take more then a week to get to you and get them popping. Make sure you pick a strain that you can go 2weeks past the listed time by breeder. (Most breeders times are minimum they go)

This is kind of the route I was leaning towards. Thanks much for the input!

Having to order seeds is a concept I would really dislike but it still astounds me that I can drive to town and pick out most breeder's ware off the shelf for the same price as on line. And yup, time lines are best ignored if at all possible. A few runs ago I got the rot and in trying to save the run I was pushed back a month or more.

I do have a contingency plan in place if I encounter a major setback time wise, which basically involves extending veg time and employing a bigger res to get me through my absence. this whole time crunch revolves around me being gone for 4 days this spring. I'd prefer not to be awat from it for that long (especially during flower), but if I have to then I do have a plan.

I hear you, I had to go away for 7 days last run but all was good, just had girlfriend top up res with 5 gal pail and pump set up for her. Had to raise lites a good foot before I left though .

Haha! I do indeed. That Murphy guys is a real bastard. Who the hell gave him the authority to make laws and shit? I'm definitely expecting something catastrophic but hoping for the best.

That would be brilliant but my GF is going to be with me when I leave town and NOBODY else knows about my hobby. Just going to have to raise the lights, top the res off as high as it'll go, check my timers and hope for the best if I am not done when I leave.

I just left for 8 days with a flush, extreme top up, light raise and systems tripple check. GTG

yes it's a haz-mat driver who transports explosives. I drove doubles cross country for 35 years and would transport route controlled material on occasion (explosives or radioactive material)
