Wassup guys what's the main reason for 12/12 from seed? Will it flower as soon as it's mature? Will it be big enough to get a substantial yield? I'm a newb kinda I wanna be setup for the best results

You need to have an autoflower strain otherwise it won't do anything. The auto flowers don't get much either since it's about a 10 week grow from seed to finish. You want to have a timer set for 18 hours on and 6 hours off for about 4 weeks or longer for veg. The longer you go the bigger the plant and roots, so bigger and more buds. Usually it's a 4 weeks for veg and 8-12 weeks on 12-12 light cycle.

Pics are from a few days ago...Day 5

Day 10
She's been doing good. Growing to the screen well. I had to take her out to cut the bottom shoots. I left the the fan leaves, I know most people cut them. A few shots of her root ball and a steam I lollipopped. She's starting to stink my house up like skunk. Every time I come home it hits me in the face. Any tips for the smell w/o a carbon filter? I use 4 ONA Blocks and they help but I could use something else. I also have 2 time-mist units too. Thanks for any input.

ph 5.5-6.0
ppm 850-900
temp 68-72
water temp 64-65

Hahahaha!
Just found your grow journal ray and that toilet flush "evidence re-distribution" method is gold!
If our toilet can handle my monster turds I'm sure it could handle an ounce or two of trim.

That is some seriously compact branching there bro! That 400watter is keeping them nice and compact. Nice work.

And those roots in pic-3 above look so much like ginseng you could probably export them to China. Very impressive girth!

Good growing to you sir!

So starting day 18 of flower. The bottom leaves are turning yellow and I have changed up my nutes to fix it. The pictures look a little worse than it really is. She is starting to pop corn and a few trichromes have formed on the sugar leaves. About 5 more weeks.

ppm 790
temp 68
water temp 64
ph 5.5-6.0

Day25
I think I'm finally getting my nitrogen deficiency in control. Her buds are small and she has few trichomes as a result. I boosted her with some nitrate (about 12tsp of B.C. Grow in my 5gal cooler). She also has some new root growth.

ppm 1350
ph 6.0
rez 62-65
temp 68-76

Hell of a grow man like the DIY setup my buddys running similar setup and a couple flood tables seems to be having promising results. Im a soil guy myself just got my first flood table setup going thinking about a dwc setup for one big monster to try it out any tips for starting up

If I had time she would of been a monster. Scrog can grow the same as a few plants with just one. It's awesome. And everyone is soil starting out. Tips? I've got a few...

1. Check ph every day. Get a pen or test kit and use it.
2. Get a ppm pen, cleaner and calibration solution. Use it and check ppm everyday. This is what tells you if you need nutes or need to back off.
3. Keep a calendar and write down ph, temps, ppm.
4. Water the nutes down starting her out and raise them up over time.
5. Scrog and build it right. You're going to have to figure out how to fill and empty your DWC buckets. I use a syphon pump, some use wet/dry vacs, pumps, etc.
6. Get a good air pump. In 5 gallons I use a 900 gallon an hour air pump.
7. Keep things clean.

Good luck. Give me a link, I'd love to check out your grow.

Nice work! Could you explain how that bucket is mounted above the cooler, I am looking for a way to scrog and dwc but it never seems logical like in flower how would one keep the res ph'd and fed if the plant has been screened and cant really be moved.

Do you ever worry that your pump might back fill from being lower than your res. From what I can see you just cut a fitting for the pot you keep it in its position and pull the cooler out to do maintenance I have been a coco hand water guy for some time but dwc seems very enticing bluberry tried explaining his external res setup to me but I cannot grasp the fill line or how that all works sounds like a bunch of wires and plugs I dont need wish there was a simple way so I could stop trying to stick a watering can under a screen less veg time shorter screen height and dwc would be sweet any help is appreciated

The cooler is just below the net basket. I don't screw the lid on, so I just lift the lid slightly and pull the cooler to the side. I have about a 3in x 6in gap to the water. I don't use an external res or pumps. I use an air pump, but no pump to get water in and out. I use a hand syphon pump to move water around. It can be tricky but if you plan it out you'll be fine. Some people lay a screen on top so the screen goes where the plant goes...that's one option. Some use a shop vacs to get water out, some use valves and hoses.

Any more questions just ask.

I hear what your saying it seems everyone has their little trick I guess it's one of those things that would be better to learn in person it's hard to picture everyone's little tweak on the method, however what you said made sense as long as you have a plan you can make it work I could probably decrease the height from my screen to the pot by watering with a beer bong lol whatever gets the job done!

Good work so far, man. You will like The Church. I miss that strain. I used to have it in perpetual but a power outage killed my clones. It's a VERY giggly weed. It's not the most potent strain, or the most tasty, but it looks great, and has a sativa like high. Very fun stuff. Good luck with your cabinet.

Have you ever thought about doing more plants in flower, with less veg time? Like instead of one big plant, several smaller plants. It's more manageable and yields more in small spaces.

I've tried growing about 6 but was too much for me to handle. Looking back I should of grown 2 vs. 1...but it's too late now. I have to stop for a little while after this grow, but next time 2 is a must.
