Row went out on my fotop 800. Talking to Rita now. They don’t really want to send a replacement cause shipping is so expensive. So I told them they should give me $90 back then cause that is about what I payed per board (after shipping and taxes). I’ll let you guys know how it works out. Depending how they handle it I may stop suggestion them. Hlg would and has sent replacements right away to me and just had me send the faulty board back.

I am looking at KingBrite for my first foray into LED. I am looking to light up two 4x4 tents; 1 veg and 1 flower. I am looking at getting two of these 2 panel boards:
https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Kingbrite-240W-Samsung-lm301b-v2-mix_62018007012.html?spm=a2700.icbuShop.41413.10.252f7715TWMs4w
instead of the 4 panels of 288 on the same heatsink.
My thinking is that I will be able to space them out to make the light spread a little better for the entirety of the 4x4flower tent.
I am unsure of what to do for the veg tent, and may default to getting two more of the same board. I feel that is a bit of overkill, but can't figure another way to properly illuminate the veg tent. Any suggestions?
Also wanted to ask the community about the appreciable difference between the V2 (Samsung lm301b v2)
and the V3 (samsung lm301h 288v3) boards available. Things are changing so rapidly in the LED world that I'm hesitant to grab the newest and best, as that will always be changing.
I've never ordered an LED before, and getting them thru Kingbright /alibaba is admittedly intimidating. Are there any questions I should be asking? Is there more I need to know, other than what I've mentioned, in order to make an informed purchase?
Hope everyone's Friday is off to a good start!

I ordered 4 of the 240watt boards for my 1mx2m tent from kingbrite. I'm happy with them they were 486 pounds delivered they arrived within a week. Over half price of hlg and can't be 50% worse that's my view. And my plants are loving them too

I'm using 200 watts of 4000K QB, veg was slow as hell and they're not doing a much better job in flower. If I could, I'd change them to 3000K.
It's making it real hard for me to choose Qb 288 v2 or 315w CMH light for my grow tent 3x2x6 everyone got good growth out of them both

Both grow bud fine. My impression is that cmh cm an easier light to grow with as long as you can manage a HID/heat situation.
With leds you need to be able to control your environment more, heating/cooling and Rh

Per watt? Per kwh? Per square feet? In what setup? The list goes ooonnnn....

If you have all the equipment (which also run a lot of power) for controling your climate properly: led. Or if youre lucky enough to have perfect climate.

If you just want to grow in a tent with one extraction fan and little else go for cmh.
Its easier to grow with and also tends to out do its on paper specs. But buying new bulbs gets old quick.

Sounds like a couple guys on grass city have had diodes go out with meijui also. They haven’t had very good luck with their customer service.
Asfaik most of these alibabas have send back the board warranty which means you end up paying a lot of postage. I see them as disposable. Just maybe not after just a few months.
For a board which is 98% working i i would probably just bite the bullet and leave it as it is. It will draw the same wattage as before, using 784 diodes rather than 800.

I've had a string out on a genuine hlg qb288 v1 for over a year and it's running away just fine.
Hlg sent me a replacement very fast. Great customer service.
My Meijui 800 boards have been running around a year now with no problems.
As @Rocket Soul says it's a pain trying to return to China.
My missus tried to return an item to China for money back and the company emailed saying to save you expensive postage to return it we'll give you half your money back instead! Lol

I have been running them around 2 months. They should give me my money back for a board at least. I don’t mind using it with a row out. Like you said won’t be too noticeable. But I will caution people to keep in mind they’re warranty doesn’t mean shit lol.

Guys please start using some L channels on thosd 800+ boards. You're hanging them by the edges and let them bend downwards in the middle where those copper lines are being under stretch. With an L channel or two, along the length of the board, rigidity is added and stress on solder points/copper lines is reduced. It also prevents boards from bending when warming up /cooling down.

Oh man, if I had room I'd definitely go back to the CMHs, I used to run 2x315 and they were amazing. There isn't a single thing LEDs do better, except maybe for heat production.
