I have not looked for or saw a pre-flower during VEG, but only after 10 to 14 days after starting 12/12. Maybe some signs were there I did not see, but I don't think so.
i saw a grower on here claim he could smell a female.

Some strains preflower before you send it to flower and some don't. That's one of the benefits of growing the same strain over and over. You get to know their way of doing things.

in three years, I've grown 3 differnet strains, often two different ones at a time, and I can never see any difference in the plants, only in the buds.

does your different strain plants look diffeent?

Not really. You just see the fem hairs that come out in pairs just a little unlike the single looking mini-leaf that indicates the place to start lookiing. The LSD I was growing showed from clones at about 4 weeks veg but like you I wasn't looking when growing from seeds.

Well it's supposed to be AK48 Fem...hairs, not pistols at the nodes. Ordered them from Nirvana. I didn't think it was supposed to be an auto strain...I'll check again later to make sure of what I'm seeing when the lights come on. 18/6

thats funny that you say that.I had started 5 regular seeds when I first started and two of them were snow whites and when the one reached about a foot tall it started to put off a very strong odor it didnt really carry through the air though you had to stick your nose up to it but then it really stunk. I said to myself man I bet thats gonna be a female. the other snow white did not have this smell. sure enough the stanky one was a fem and the other one was a male, and this was about two and a half weeks old from seed.

We all learn something new everyday no matter how painful it is! Personally for everything new I learn I have to forget something old. My hard drive is full! It's either that or old age creepy up on me again! LOL!

ok i have a ? for the bubbleheads i just started my own homemade bubbleponic system i have a 2 to 5 gallon air pump in the water 2 cups with rocks in it with a hole in the middle of the cup for the stem can go threw the rocks in the hole into the water in the water i have a cloning solution i had it 4 like 4 dayz already the light i have is a 23=100 watt cfl its only 2 little haze clones i have the cup coverd with a zip lock bag for humidity and i cut 2 holes on the side of the bag for it can get some air i spray them 2 to 3 times a day and my ?? is that there drooping can u help me out with this problem ??

you have an air pump in the water? not really, do you?

They are drooping because they do not have roots and are not eating or drinking, which is OK for 4 or 5 days, until they do get a root,, IF they do get a root. I really do not understand your system, and I do not know if it will CLONE (force a root) or not.
Is your system to grow in, or to clone in?
What makes a film of moisture and air stay on the bottom of the stem?

I really do not know if that system will work or not.

Hi everyone! These are 27 days into 12/12 and I am still not sure if they are girls or not. Can anyone help me? I took clones from all of them and would like to remove the males if there are any, I just can't tell. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!!!!!

its definatly a female u can tell by the white pistals that are coming out they are like 2 white pubic hairs lol!!!

Ok, now I am confused.

From what I read, you should wait for signs of female (pre-flower) before sending the plant into 12/12. (in Jorge's bible) Pre-flowers simply mean the plant has reached "sexual maturity" and are ABLE to flower, but don't necessarily need to. When grown outdoors, you see pre-flowers LONG before real buds. Pre-flowers usually start to show sometime around the 30-day mark.

I know you can sex them early and start 12/12 whenever you want, but it is best to wait ? Man, will have to dig out the book and see what I find !

I think they are all girls too. Even on that last picture I think I see hairs. By this time the boys would be evident. Were they fem seeds are did you just get incredibly lucky?

RP, for plant maturity I go by alternating nodes instead of time. Remember Jorge is uber experienced and he can probably spot a preflower from 100 yards!
