Depends on your lights.....with cool flouro's....POSSIBLY.....exhaust both of the fans and use passive intakes any way you can. If you're using a carbon filter and air cooled hood (or not) and have a good amount of ducting...my guess is probably not.

wut if i stacked the fans on top of each other blowing the same way through the filter.. would that make a difference?

I would think you'd have better air movement by having 1 of the fans on the carbon filter, and one of the fans down the line...so its like:

filter.....fan1.....lights.....fan2........

----------------------------> airflow

somethin like that.

Wow guys... thanks for the great response =] ... I was hoping you would like it.

And this little guy will work for just about any size cab...

In fact... build a quick manifold out of 3" PVC piping, and you can link as many as these as you want for the size of your grow... have 4 of these for a decent size closet grow for example.

This is a sneak peak of my micro grow in a cab. 4 plants 2 weeks into flowering.. you can see the fan I'm using in the background.... This filter works perfectly and...

.. Some nice side effects of this filter besides the oder control (eliminated)... It also blocks light getting in and out of the cab through the exhaust fan... not to mention is muffled the noise of the fan as well.... a must have for all stealth grows. =]

There is no hint of smell any more... and I'm not kidding when I say that I do miss it =[..
but my goal is to make it stealthy.

I was thinking though... just simply apply it to any small fan, and place the fan/filter unit in any room for an easy do it yourself air purifier.

I spent like $10 to make it.. best of all, it's re-usable. Simply replace the carbon!

Do not hesitate to try this at home...

The pencil cups are in the office supply isle.
The activated carbon is in the pet isle next to the fish tanks
the rest is easy to find.

Peace.... and keep it fun

has anyone used one of these for a while until the carbon was spent? what does it spell like? how can you tell when it's time to change the carbon?

I have mine running now been on there like a month but, It has been on my 3 season porch and I have to leave the cab door open so the smell of fresh green is in the air. not worried. If you are locked tight in a certain room you would know the diffrence.

I built this scrubber but there isn't much air flowing through it and the temperature of my grow box has gone from 78 degrees to 87 degrees. . . My box is 3x4x5. I have a fan blowing into the box and then a fan on the inside circulating air and then the scrubber at the top. Any help? bongsmilie

Randall,

In your case the scrubber/fan combo is slowing down the air flow and increasing the temps in the process. Either a more powerful fan is in order to draw more air through the filter -or- reconfigure your exhaust fan the way you had it previously and make a stand alone scrubber that intakes and exhaust the air within your grow box placing it as high as possible so as to scrub the smell awy before it's removed by the "now stand alone' reconfigured exhaust fan. Either way should bring down the temps.
