When Confederate General and Religious Fanatic Stonewall Jackson was lying fatally wounded he asked what day it was.
When he was told it was a Sunday he answered:
"Good. I always wanted to die on a Sunday".
One of his junior officers described Gen. Jackson as:
"An officer who would kill a man at the drop of a hat - and, sometimes, he'd drop the hat".
To our modern standards a person who could believe in the institution of slavery AND consider themselves a devout Christian seems contradictory.
But the Bible contains no prohibition, or even disapproval, regarding slavery.
In fact many Bible verses are seen as advocating slavery (and genocide and torture and rape).
If you could choose which day you would die, which day would it be???
....and why?
