I don't know why, but this has me ROFLMFAO. Such a sweet idea. I've pondered it but feel I would go through way too many fish!

The only thing I would have done differently is named one Masta Beta! LOL!

I wish I could set up a big tank, fill it up with trout and run a garden of of it... but not in my hotel room... LOL

So far the seedlings are doing well, but I have not learned to stabilize the system ...

The most important part of the system is the bacteria that processes the fish shit into plant food... and they are tricky... too much and you kill the fish and the plants... too little and you kill the fish and the plants...

I guess I am not a good bacteria grower yet... but the fish & the plants are still alive... LOL

Well Solo, you are not alone... sometimes I look around me and just burst LOL... it is some funny shit...

Yeah... it is deff. not as simple as throwing some fish in a tank... You will kill both fish and plants..

Aquaponic's environmental requirements are very different than Hydro...

Ph levels and temperatures are established for the bacteria, and the plants and fish sort of compromise... it's just different...

I thought about it... believe me.. but I think I will be going through fish before I get a hang of this bacteria thing.... plus it sounded more scientific...

Well, Here we are... another update....

I will try to keep things a little more current around here... sorry...

Beta got a little sick, I think from lack of bacteria due to low ph...

So, I made the decision to move all the seedlings into another mini DWC tray...

Everyone is healthy and happy now...

I had a little beta living in my aerogarden happy as a clam, until we had a heat wave/power outage. I came home to a fish snack.

No nutes, the plant was pretty small. I am really conservative with the nutes since I only have the ones that came with the AG. I'd like to get some fox farm or something, there's alot of suggestions on rollitup.
I had the fish in there about 2 weeks to resolve what looked like nitrate deficiency. We had a heat wave, over 100 degrees, and the fans died while I was at work. I came home and the fish was boiled.


So, a different question.. I am still showing up as "stranger". How many posts to upgrade to stoner?

As for being a stoner... you just gotta get around a little more... I am not exactly sure about the criteria... but you'll get there... lol

Yep, back when she was only about a month old, 8-10 inches tall or so. Now i'm in the "stay the hell away from the closet and let her do her thing" stage. *sigh*

This is by and far the most unique thing i have seen on RIU - your right up there with FDDs topsy turvy grow. Im impressed gypsy. NOICE!!

So can I grow with fish in the water? I'm doing the same set to.. I have two top 44 plants I want to grow. Can I have fish and plants in same tank?

Not before you do a ton of research, otherwise you will kill both the fish and plants...

yeh dude, when i seed that shit at first i had to blink a couple times to see if i understood what i was seeing right, lol. Nuckin Futs dude. N dont worry bro, im completely tuned in, i wanna see this shit through, itll be a fun grow for sure.

N lemme see if i can +rep u again, cuz i was gonna when i 1st saw your grow, but i already +repped u from somethin earlier, but i think i spread enough love around for it to lemme do it again now. Yeah... things have been a little out of control lately...

The water quality inspector (me) has shut down the plant until further tests confirm that we have a stable environment, balanced within....

Alpha, Beta, Bam & Boo are fine, even if they miss the roots dangling in the water...

But I really need figure a few things out.... the tanks are so small, it's just too easy for levels to fluctuate...

I'll post some picture of them a little later.... busy bee right now... wiring the grow tent...
