Dial in those blu-mats too! You had #6 in the bag brotha, you can do it again! I wanna see another great member hosting this thing! I almost feel like its my duty to do you guys right... I feel like the party cup has become an illegitimate love child that I was recently introduced to after years of obliviousness! I want this thing in the hands of someone that'll love like I do! You'll do great things this round!

Stop with the auto talk... This isn't the time or place, they're not allowed and if you had bothered to read the RULES, you would have noticed that... I'll also take this time to let you know that the ONLY containers you are allowed to grow in for this competition are 16 fluid ounces (473 ml). To answer your question, yes, many of us have no problem meeting or exceeding 2-3 ounces. Understand that this is not a "weight" contest, I have stated many times throughout the other ones I have been in that its more like a beauty contest...
Consider this, using only the pictures and description provided; you want to order an 1/8th for yourself, which cannabis would you choose.... They all weigh 3.5 grams, they all cost $40... Do you choose the one that came from the grower who produced more per plant or the one that you think will be the highest overall quality?
If I'm not mistaken, I was the first (correct me if I'm wrong long timers) to break the tradition of the heaviest plant taking first place...I personally think that I had a very beautiful plant, I'd like to see beauty become tradition! Consider as well that it takes some serious skill and moderately good genetics to produce more than a gram per ounce of container volume....

1 gallon = 128 fl oz 128g = 4.57 ounces or a bit more than a 1/4 lb
5 gallon = 640 fl oz 640g = 22.85 ounces or a bit more than a pound and a half​

Keep in mind that we don't veg and we don't use clones... This is 12/12 from SEED... I guess the real question here should be:
"Can you produce a pound in a five gallon bucket if I gave you a seed and no veg time?"
I have all the faith in the world for myself and at least a few other members participating....

This will be my second time hosting this wonderful competition so we'll get right into it!
Here is a basic outline of the rules for this competition.

* 1st post or germination post MUST contain
the following: strain name, nutrients used,
Light source used, media used and
Germination date. (Day of sprout).
* Germ date and strain name must be written
on the cup by first post.
* Party cups(16oz 473 ml) only, no other sizes and
no transplanting or "swapping" permitted.
* Roots must be confined inside the cup at all times and any
roots growing outside the cup will result in
automatic DQ. Trim back any stragglers. Contestants
will be subject to root checks in between weekly
postings if requested by me.
* Any indoor light source allowed, no changing light
sources one started (with the exception of a burnt out
bulb). No Sunlight.
* Participants, registrants, host, and sponsors may vote
on winner(s). Start from seed only. No Clones. No
Auto flowers. 12 week sativas highly discouraged, we
don't want to wait for these to finish and may ask you to resign. 12/12, 13/11, 11/13
the entire time, No Veg time
* Start a maximum of 5 seeds total, keep only 1 female
plant for entry once sex has shown for all 5.
* Germination window begins 12:01 am AKST (Alaska standard time) 2/15/16 and ends 2/29/16 11:59 pm AKST (yes on the "leap day")
No exceptions or stragglers, PERIOD!
* Weekly updates mandatory with picture(s).or you're Dq'd
---CONTINUAL TARDY UPDATES MAY ALSO BE SUBJECT TO DQ!---

Hydro, DWC, automated watering, soma style and any other non-standard, non-dirt
type growers:
These methods are accepted as long as the roots are in the confines of the cup.
Again root checks may be requested by me at any time. No cheating will be tolerated
period! Like last comp any suspected cheaters will be held against a community tribunal
For judgment. As far as the difficulties of finding a 16 oz cup... all I can say is start looking now!
I know this has been a sticking point but we've had 7 comps with this size cup and we've always
gotten through it.
Try the children's birthday party section at your local retailer if all else fails!

Regarding light source, does it have to be a single light source or can it be a combo of different fixtures?

I read the rules jerkster. I just want to know if autos would do better than photos. Why ya gotta bust my chops for being inquisitive jerky brown? :p

Oh yeah! I'm in, but I'm cheating my ass off this time :cuss:.
  1. So I started my beans and basically have a 4 week veg period to play with. All I have to do is pick a start date, put it on the cup and take pictures everyday to use to slowly meld in as my weekly cupdate. Or maybe I'll just 18/6 an auto in the veg cab? Gotta decide fast.
  2. Gotta get one of those 16 oz insulated cups and knock out the interior walls and now I have a twenty ounce cup. Slick, huh :p?
  3. Gotta paint the inside of the cup with that nasty root pruner shit, right? It's not like I'm going to smoke that shit when it's done since I can always say bullshit like, "It tastes like a combination of heaven and my favorite ex-girlfriend's pussy even though it hasn't been cured for even two weeks". :P
  4. And I must learn to Photoshop a one to two percent increase in size and just insert a few ball bearings on scale day for realism.
LOL, Have I missed any other cheats?????? :mrgreen: Oh SHIT! That's right, I can't enter since changing your light source is against the rules and I'll be upgrading the lights in my flowering room in March so oooops, nevermind, I'm pre-disqualified :(. Great rule btw :roll:.

@FrozenChozen Congrats Champ and I hope you have a great time doing that hosting thing. Again :)! BTW you should assign each entrant a 5 digit ID that they have to write on their cup the first week or so. This will eliminate a person falsifying their start since they won't know what number to right on their cup ahead of time though I guess if you really believe size doesn't influence voting my advice is irrelevant to you.
