Whether voting for yield or fire or whatever, use your own voting criteria. Whatever looks best to you. Real simple. We have a point system, 1st place is 3 points. 2nd place is 2 points. 3rd place is 1 point. You are limited to voting for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and the blue ribbon winner or 4th. You cannot vote for yourself.

I am a newbie grower who recently found this forum doing research and started vegging my first ever grow. When it was time to flip to 12/12, I came across the end of the 6th Annual Cup Tournament and it looked like fun and thought it would be interesting to see if I could make it to the end using only a cup. Other guys were getting creative with their cups, I just wanted to keep it simple and stay within the spirit of the game. I simply made sure the cup stayed watered and kept it in my bloom tent. I had some hiccups with nutes but made it to the end with 8.35g of really sticky bud. Smoke quality is a solid 8, 2 bong rips puts you in a good place. Here are pictures of my prize winning buds and good luck to all participants!!

I tried to think up a nice long but oh so entertaining report on my Party Cup Girl butI am way to baked right now. image.jpeg
She was a pretty girl in the late stages of life. I just wished that some of the purple coloring would have transferred to the buds.image.jpeg
I knew on chop day that she wasn't going to yield much. She definitely leaned more towards the bubba kush side on the yield. She smelled kinda like hash and coffee.image.jpegimage.jpeg
Damn didn't even make double digits, but the time in a jar definitely did her some good. She smells much sweeter than when she was cut, almost like vanilla coffee.image.jpeg

Now for the smoke report. We, my bride and I, had a tough time deciding how to test this girl out. In the end we went with the old trod and true blunt. She smoked smooth and had a hashy flavor. Just like the yield, the smoke took after the bubba kush. Pure couch lock almost mouth breather status. Don't smoke this shit if you have someplace to be in the next 1-11/2 hours. It's a perfect smoke for sleeping on.
Good luck to all you guys that finished. I am proud to say that I finished this little challenge and I am looking forward to the next one. I have some Vero 29s that will be in the mailbox tomorrow so hopefully I will be better equipped next round. Thanks to Solcalrob for being a gracious host and a big hand to all of other people who help make this possible. You guys know who you are.

First I would like to give a big thanks to Socalrob for hosting and all the other contestants for whom this contest would not have happened, ran as smoothly, or been such a great experience!

Now, on to my cup entry for which I so kindly ask for your vote.
This is my first go at the party cup comp and also the whole 12/12 form seed concept. I learned a lot not only from my grow but also a ton just from sitting back and watching the rest of you do your thing. Hey - who would have known Blurple LED's grow bomb seedlings?

I had high hopes for my girl going into this, she was a healthy little bean...

Right from a sprout she was introduced to a 12/12 lighting cycle beneath the Inda-Gro 420 / pontoon combo

My worst fears were realized when the budding started to set in and it was obvious I was gifted the worst pheno known to man kind. I had seen this before in a run of these for a previous grow.
The Female Seeds ICE "Goiter Dirt" pheno raised it's ugly little head! At that point I was committed and decided up front this was a 1 seed show so the show went on.

Fast forward - 84 days from sprout and she sputtered over the finish line. My home brewed cup pedestal and gurgle water system had done the trick to finish her up without a single glitch.

After chop, dry, and final trim she delivered 17.6g of very (maybe too tightly for comp standards?) tightly trimmed buds

She went into a jar but was not able to spend long there as everyone was dying to get their hands on her

The smell she put off was that of Turpentine laced potting soil. Definitely not the most pleasant but strangely not disgusting either.
The smoke was incredibly smooth and not cough inducing.
High was very much in the head followed by a slight body blow and lingered for several hours.
All in all really nothing to complain about in the final smoking experience. (which in the end is what this is all about?)

This has been a pleasure to rub shoulders with the rest of you growers in this comp and I look forward to participating in another in the future.
Don't forget to drop me a vote just for such a smooth finish with less than par genetics.
I also could use a companion for the light used for this grow ;-)

I like this eight week hybrid of White Widow and Deep Purple Kush. I've grown her before and currently have three of these girls in the flower room (growing only with MaxiGrow this time.) The buds are nice and tight. The smoke is earthy, fruity, with a hint of lavender. I had fun and it was great to be part of the competition. I will vote on a separate post.

So, it's that time again... After a long and fructiferous few months, we have reached the end. Though we started with nearly five times this number of contestants, we are reduced to the few and proud finishers. Things may not always go our way, but we go our own way! Finishing this cup again has been a learning experience, as it always should be, if you're not growing, you're dying! I congratulate each and every one of you that put your heart and soul in to this, its no easy accomplishment; as you see only a fifth of us made it here.
Without further ado, I will submit my entry:

Yield: 31.11 grams! De-Stemmed and ready to cure @48%rh (a bit drier than I wanted)

Smoke Report

Smell: 10/10!
Holy shit! I am blown away by this sweet original bubblegum funk! Its like opening fucking Bubblicious I swear. I smell some sweet berry undertones, with a strong kush bite. I'll be looking forward to popping some more of these in the future!


Flavor: 8/10
Though the bubblegum flavor doesn't shine through vividly, it makes up with a hearty, drool in the bong, intense sweet kush. I'm a pretty big fan of true "kush" strains. Its like fine scotch, the bite at the end is just proof its doing the job! It could most assuredly be a smoother burn, and a smoother flavor; I have a good idea of what the future holds for her!

Bag Appeal: 7.5/10
My nugs turned out a bit smaller and more dense than expected, I really should have lollipopped better. I'm not upset by any means! Tons of dense bigger than popcorn buds, and 4 great colas to go with it all. I've seen frostier, and better formed buds. That smell just bleeds through the jar, I'm sold on smell right now! I think I could have done a better job caring for this gal, but what's done is done!

Effects: 8/10
After the first couple hits, I felt tension ease up in my tired knees. I had a long day and haven't really smoked all day; a perfect time to check quality! As I write, I seem to be using the backspace key a lot, that's usually a good sign. A few more tokes and I swear now I'm typing slower, the rest of my body has eased up some. Sledding all day with kids really takes it out of me now! This is more of an upbeat daytime type of "head high" with a definite pain relief effect too. Some anxiety has faded too, two of the primary reasons I smoke... Now if I can just find the rest of my thoughts....

Overall: 8.4/10
I am quite happy with the way that my bubblegum turned out. She ran longer than I initially accounted for and didn't do quite as well in the yield department as I wanted, but damn if I didn't come up with something that I'll regret smoking all of! I'm going to try my damnedest to cure this little bit for as long as I can stand! I have a good feeling that sweet pink bubblegum flavor will mature as it did throughout flowering. I may not give notice to this strain on a dispensary shelf right away, but the smell would sell me in an instant! She's not the prettiest or thinnest girl on the block and though her "aroma" could be called "stinky", I've found that sometimes, those girls are little more grateful for the love they do get!

I have been in a number of these cup contest and always grown in soil, my goal was to keep the plant healthy all throughout the life cycle and its always harder then it seems.
This time around i had some grow room issues to battle, there was a time when she didn't seem too healthy and nearly made it to the end.

1st place vote: for weight alone, has to be Stangrows...(I'm pretty sure you didn't understand the whole 16oz cup deal, but anyways, here is your vote.)
2nd place vote: for weight, posts and visual appearance goes to FrozenChozen..

Rough & short relationship with this lady(seems to be my MO in life!lol), crappy tower malfunctions and low light levels hanging at the edge of coverage didn't help her, BUT this is not an excuse(s) thread......ha

Vaped all of it already and was never really satisfied by the taste or high=== did two sessions in a row and watching kindergarden cop(yes I own it, I know that's sad) wasn't even funny; still sober

I'm not much on speeches or sales,actions speek louder than words imo.
