The $20 150w HPS - Where and How??

I would like to order one of these ASAP. Does it come with the fixture and bulb? I want to order both together and I heard people were getting them for $20... can anyone please supply a link? Do I just screw it in the fixture, plug it in and its ready? I am SO not handy so please use simple terms to explain it to me I don't even understand "ballast" ..sorry if I seem slow.

As far as I know, the $20 price is just for the bulb. You also have to get the set-up with the ballast, etc...The units I have seen for a grow room are around $80-$100 complete including the lamp (bulb). I suppose you could convert a commercial fixture, but you still need to buy a ballast, etc.. Check out ebay. You can see what they look like and check pricing.

i ordered 2 last week and it works great, all you need is an extension cord and 3 wire nuts to get it runnin

This is the whole setup, it is cheap cause it is a wall fixture for outdoor lighting and such. I am ordering 2 of them. You need to do a little wire splice job too, and an extra plug with a ground socket.

Thank you for answering, and thanks to everyone else for the quick replies as well. What do you mean by wire splice job? Extra plug? Ground socket? I have been looking at the 150w hps threads but I just don't understand. I guess I need 1. 2. 3. type steps to get this..

A couple days ago I bought a 150w HPS, a 50w HPS, and a 200W MH from a guy for $20. But umm...you can't find lifelong friends online.

...unless you're on eHarmony I guess. Ew.

Not sure what a 'ground socket' is. He might be referring to a extension cord that has three prongs...two flat and one round ground. Most orange cords will work fine. If you have any other questions, be very specific...
