The instability is in North Korea's main link, which runs through the northern Chinese city of Shenyang. Madory said this applied to North Korea's main Internet connection via Chinese company China Unicom, although it was possible the country had limited connection via satellite.

So, they did have a pipeline into the rest of the world, other than satellite? I am surprised, but still suspicious of the anecdote.
Furthermore, it was Sony pictures...is that literally a reason for international saber-rattling? Does that even make sense?
The whole story seems too bizarre, even for a drunk, mentally-teenaged, narcissistic God-King. The risk-reward profile is too heavily-weighted against them.
Then again, maybe it's North Korea which is causing my connection to RIU to become compromised as of late?

DUN DUN DUNNnnnnn...

damn aliens.

Obama put the hack in the context of a crime.

"No, I don't think it was an act of war," he told CNN's "State of the Union" show that aired on Sunday. "I think it was an act of cyber vandalism that was very costly, very expensive. We take it very seriously. We will respond proportionately."
...
Republican Representative Mike Rogers, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, would not call the hacking an act of war. But he did criticize Obama for embarking on a two-week vacation in Hawaii on Friday without responding to the attack.

"You've just limited your ability to do something," Rogers said.

"I would argue you're going to have to ramp up sanctions. It needs to be very serious. Remember - a nation-state was threatening violence."

There is no proof that the Cyber attack on SONY was done by the N Koreans.
Says who? The "media"? Our illustrious government? None of those sources are reliable.

While I admit the possibility exists that North Korea didn't have anything to do with the hack, I'd say the probability is pretty high. Given that this attempt achieved their goal, I'd say it won't be long until Haj, or some other assholes, use the same approach and hack some other dumb shit for "fun and profit".

Getting the film pulled.

In their eyes, and in the eyes of the world, they just made the most powerful nation in the world bow down to their demands.

What kind of "superpower" fears a little shit dictator and "nation" like North Korea? A LAME "superpower". A FAKE "superpower".

North Korea should lose their "web privileges" for a long, long time, courtesy of Uncle Sam. Then they might think twice before trying to play their silly games.

How do you know this is a goal of theirs? Did Kim Jong-un send you a letter or something? Or are you going off what Fox is telling you?

Sounds like this is nothing more than a PR stunt to get people to watch a lame movie that otherwise would have gone straight to Netflix.

You could be right, however, given their past history, I hold the opinion that it's simply another North Korean tirade.

I "liked" because I actually thought the movie would be pretty lame. Thank you North Korea or whom ever
