Holy Roller Haze getting the axe tonight as I thought she was purely female but she has pistils and a few balls on lowers so I think I she is a hermie unfortunately…
I haven’t had a herm in years so I wonder what caused it if it was environmental or just simply luck of the draw genetically…

4 Querkle clones

1 SETI seedling in the back left

Day 14 since flip and only given dechlorinated water so far no feedings have been needed yet

Overall looking pretty happy but maybe a tiny bit low on N so I’ll supplement a compost tea or a feeding if necessary but I try to get as close to water only as possible with Super Soil.

I love getting multiple females out of just a 5 pack plus fem seeds are for pussies haha
Amen, brother! You know, those 2 females were 12” and 17” tall and took up very little space and showed on day 27 and 28. Listen, I get it, some people run fems because of space constraints and I get it, that’s cool but I’d be willing to bet most run fems cause they don’t wanna do the work and kill plants. I just spent the last 6.5 hours working in my rooms, transplanting, cleaning etc and I’m exhausted. And that’s all I gotta say about that. F auto flowers too! lol

I couldn’t say it better myself I understand folks do what works for them, but less work = less dank in my opinion.

My flower area maybe be only a single quadrant at the moment( my sealed walk in closet) plus my small veg area in another room, but I do work hard as I can every morning on it from the crack of dawn til all the girls are taken care of, but I also have an extra room and I’m hopefully still building an attached garage on my house and I can potentially use some of that space for a veg area and use my spare room for flower I just gotta get to building and designing it allbongsmilie

my point being that hard work pays off in plenty of amazing meds, and “easier” shortcuts with this plant are to be avoided in most cases

Time to take some 1st gen clones from those 2 DQ females. I’ll keep the 2 seed plants on the outskirts of the veg room, just to keep them alive but will be killed off as soon as I get roots on the clones. Then the clones phenos will be budded.

That’s what I’ll do in the future as the clones tend to do better in my environment and in super soil than the seed mothers do depending on the strain, plus clones are much easier to keep uniform and not have a tall one standing out in the canopy or something if you have multiple phenos and strains running

So, one unique trait my Garlic Bud 98 possesses is that when u top or take cuts, there’s always dark burgundy/blood red sap that oozes out. I use to call it ‘Vester’s Blood Garlic 98’. I’ve NEVER seen this happen with ANY strain I’ve ever grown out, including TGA.

Fast forward to day 29 of veg with my Vester’s Garlic Bud 98 x JTR (male) seed plants. Had 2 show male and 1 female. I topped the female and had light red sap ooze out and JTR on its own doesn’t do that. Looks like a good sign to me! One is without the flash on and the other flash off.
