The house was large, they were there to arrest someone and smelled the odor, and 2 people took off.

It was on the 6 oclock kxan news but never replayed it was 552 plants 1-3 foot 3-5 weeks in flower and 220 or so clones.
They intervieved the neighbor and showed some inside shots then it never replayed.

it was by the LBJ area.

That's what I like to hear. It wasn't targeted at all they wouldn't have even caught them if not for the fucking moron living there with a warrant. Sweet grow though I wonder how much they were raking in.

Hello fellow Texan Tokers!!!
Needing your advice on energy consumption and sources? Ive been looking into and researching the electricity issue involved in growing for months talked to vet electricians, online research and local research. Anyone in Texas use gasoline/ natural gas generators or solar power sources?!? Seems like theres no way of being completely of the grid without using generators. Right? or wrong? PLEASE HELP. Bypassing/ "tapping into the source" isnt an option as it will surely get one on the radar (if not SOONER then LATER). Or option 2 (concluded form my research) you could pay your electricity bill on time every month which will be 3 times higher than everyone in the neighborhood and risk your consumption data being your downfall were it to checked by a undesirable thrid party. After reading A LOT, there is definately a BIG BROTHER paranoia that has come with the smart meters that have been installed in nearly everyones home. Grow op is 10 x 600w hsps. NOT HUGE, but it does require a substantial amount of juice. So what do you guys suggest? ideas, experiences, info, reports!?!

Thanks in advance to anyone kind enough to share their knowledge!!!!!!

I search solar in Dallas and get a lot of car ads. One ad for. 99/Watt panels but all I can find. Would love it if you could send me links to these deals. I need a low cost system

So what do you guys suggest?
600W x 10, plus the associated energy for circulation, ventilation, etc, is a pretty significant chunk of power to consume, and IMO, is WELL beyond the power consumption of any residential home.

I can see a business using that much juice, and maybe a home business, but not a residential home. That's just me. If I had that much juice running in a residential area, I would front it as a home computer server operation or something. They need a lot of juice to run, AND to cool, so that could help.

I have looked into alternative power, and for small scale non-commercial grows, it's just not practical IMO, as the initial cost won't be recouped for a long, long time, and the grid is still relatively cheap by comparison.

For larger scale commercial ops, solar and wind may be more practical, however, you'd have to look at your energy cost vs. potential savings over time with whatever system you choose. The problem with alternative energy is 1.) initial costs and 2.) inefficiency. Should your alternative energy equipment fail to last as long as you expect (ie batteries or panels go bad), then you may have to reinvest in more kit before you ever recoup your initial investment. For folks with a lot of cash, that's not an issue, however, most of us don't have that kind of cash, and are ultimately better off using the grid.

I would LOVE to be able to go "off the grid", but today's technology just doesn't make it practical. So, my goal is to compensate to the best of my ability by better managing power consumption in other areas. (No clothes dryer, dishwasher, turn off the hot water heater and use sun heated water, fans instead of central air, etc....)

Good luck man.
