Temperature of water when pump is in.

In a DWC with a reservoir and the pump is placed insider vs outside, do you find the temperature is much higher?
I like the idea of the flow design with the pump inside, just not sure if the temp will cause problems.

If you buy any cheap mag pump, itll heat your water up like it's an aquarium heater and you will need a chiller.
I have a big dc pump now and it doesnt even get warm to the touch. It was $90 though.
Still the one you liked to me a while back bro? The one for your Aero box? It doesn't even get hot at all?

The aerobox has stayed at 69F in a 75F closet for the first 9 days so far. Im pretty impressed.
But im talking about my big one. I got a big 1400gph one that I can use on both setups.

Been pretty impressed by this one so far. The 1400gph version only uses 65w at full power and I only need it at 60% for my flower setup.. The 1200gph mag pumps I have pull like 1.5a at 120v

Good to know. I've FINALLY learned cheaper isn't better with hydro. I little more for the pump is well worth it.

The other option, while still heating up your water a bit, is to instead of using a submersible water pump, find an inline that's affordable. Use either a small bulkhead or grommet and barbed coupling to plumb into the lowest point of the reservoirs wall to pull the water from instead. This way the ambient air takes on the pumps heat rather than your reservoir acting like a big heatsink.
I'm not claiming this is going to eliminate any temperature increase to your water but surely much much less than the other option.

I couldn't agree more. So many on Here having success without, but. In my mind, I wouldn't even begin to think running RDwC without one.
I run a chiller in my 5x9 flower tent, but not in my 4x4 veg tent. In the veg tent I use a lot of hydroguard and as long as I stay under 72 everything seems to be fine. The 75+ range is where everything seems to go terrible. And lets not forget the dissolved oxygen levels start to plummet above 70F.

I run one on my mini 13gal RDwC even!
