technaflora Awesome Blossoms... anyone using it

I recently took a trip to the hydro shop ... and was asking the owner about "superbloom" foods. In my past grows i've used the FF liquid trio with great succcess. I explained to him that i wasn't interested in shelling out 90 bucks for the FF soluble trio and asked if he could recommend something.
Going through his shelves he looked around and recommended Awesome Blossoms by Technaflora as a bloom booster 2-11-11. obviously the guy wasn't trying to sell me on something for profit.
ANYONE using this??
How do you think it'll work in conjunction with my ff liquid trio in bloom???
any advice on it's use would be helpful.... It's a bit hard to find any info on google.:leaf:

i didn't buy it in a kit. It was just a pint sized bottle. but I think I've seen the kits you're referring to. I'm gonna give it a try ... see how it performs.... i'm just curious if i can mix it with my FF Tiger Bloom schedule. thanks for the replies so far. rep

What base nutes are you using? What is the NPK? Bloom boosters are generally a big waste of money, but that sort of depends on your base nutes.

base nutes?? i haven't heard that term used so far. Meaning what am i feeding with on a regular basis???
Like i said the FF trio consists of ..
Big Bloom .01/0.3/.07
Grow Big 6/4/4
Tiger Bloom 2/8/4
I use Big Bloom and a tblspn of molasses every watering.... mostly micronutes and all organic which gives me minimal salt buildup.
so in flowering i would use the Big Bloom and the Tiger Bloom...then plan to add the Awesome Blossoms NPK 2/11/11
Would I mix the Tiger Bloom and the Awesome Blossoms together ...or would i want to break up the feedings. Directions say once a week for the Awesome. ...
If you can elaborate on what you meant by base nutes that'd be sweet.
I still consider myself a newb. I've only done this for a year so far, but have learned a bit and grown IMO some great bud with just the trio so far...
I agree that the bloom boosters may probably be a waste of money, BUT i had to give it a try since i haven't yet. Plus it was an 11 dollar bottle of nutes so i figured it would be worth a shot for the money.

Base nutes is just a term for where you're getting most of your plant nutrition. So if someone is using the entire botanicare line, their base nutes may consist of pureblend grow and bloom. Depending on the other minerals in Tiger Bloom, that NPK ratio looks like it would be great in flower just by itself. If I was using that, I wouldn't be adding a bloom booster as your plant can only take in x amount of nutrient before you do more damage than good. Also, why are you adding molasses? Unless you have beneficial microbes in your soil, where are those sugars going? It also has a negligible amount of minerals in it but your plants are probably getting enough from your base nutes. You're right in that $11 isn't a lot of money for a bloom booster, but plant nutrition is about balance and a lot of these boosters just make for an unbalanced nutrition schedule. If you're looking for great results, and I'm assuming Tiger Bloom is complete enough with secondary macro and micro nutes, check out a sea kelp or fulvic acid product like liquid karma, floralicious plus or florablend. Using those in addition to a well balanced base is the key to bigger yields. I took a peek at your journals and you're definitely growing some respectable plants as it is. Just be careful and go light if you use that booster.

thanks alot homebrewer for the explaining. like i had said, I totally agree with you that the bloom food isn't necessary. of course the foxfarm lineup has recommendation of 3 boost powders used in bloom in conjunction with the "base nutes" all of them have npk ratings of like 0-50-30 ( a rough estimate). That's what peaked my interest in the bloom booster... I'm curious what effect it will have.
Sooo many things you tapped on that i've been wondering about, BUT alot of the talk at the hydroshop is for more expensive products.
while the bloom food was an impulse buy. I was looking into things like fulvic acid, seaweed and silicon. I don't want to be one of those dudes with 50 bottles of nutes for one cycle.... i doubt the necessity of all of it, but am experimenting.
The reason why i've been using molasses is, well honestly.... It was what i had read along the way. First to only use it in bloom and then i heard of other benefits of it, and some using it every watering. I use it every watering with no issues. I can't give you a straight answer as of why, except for the fact that i know it has some micros in it, and it gives me a placebo effect. I feel as though it has made my buds TOO STICKY. if that's a possibility.
I also use mycorrhizae ( Plant Success) for transplanting and it's made my root system almost unbearable. I've had to transplant at least three times so far from plants being rootbound. so i also assumed...without research. that the molasses were feeding any microbes that may be present from the mycorrhizae.
bear with me man! i know it seems like i don't know what i'm talking about, but what i've used so far has worked and i read and research everyday on how to improve my gardening skills... i appreciate this discussion on nutes though. It seems like most posts on RIU about nutes are yes or no questions or arguments without further discussion as of why. So just know any knowledge i take from this that i can apply to my own setup is always appreciated.

I think your mycorrhizae and molasses are working just fine together. I didn't know you had mycorrhizae in there as well. Keep in mind you don't need to feed those microbes every time you water. Every other time should still be more than enough to get great results. Also, Sweet from botanicare offers a lot more to your plants than molasses and is also feeding your microbes with simple sugars.
I was looking into things like fulvic acid, seaweed and silicon.
These are the type of additives that I usually recommend as you're not 'doubling up' on them since they're not already in your base. ProTekt from DynaGro is the best silicon additive on the market. It has 4 times the amount of silicon than silica blast at the same price. I also use Floralicious plus for my seaweed and fulvic acid contribution. Liquid Karma may be comparable to Floralicious plus but I don't have a bottle next to me to compare.

Anyways, you know what you're doing, these would just be my suggestions instead of bloom boosters.

I'm using Awesome Blossoms right now, it's absolute sexy magic.

During my first grow I watered my lady with nutes every watering and nute burned her to hell until I realized what I was doing. Although she was burned she got really fat. Then on my second grow I did it right, only feeding nutes every other watering. It worked amazingly, I got some amazing bud. Links to my grows are in my sig below. My second grow is finished now, but I never updated the journal and probably won't. Now I'm growing a clone from my second grow, same Awesome Blossoms every other watering and it's getting mighty chubby. Here's a few pics.

Looks real good man! and i'm will be trying it out.....and PLEASE don't think I'm dissing your plants because i don't know what strain or how your lighting was but ....
your blossoms don't look much bigger than what i was getting out of my tiger bloom 2-8-4 ...they do look very dense and I'm sure you have a great smell coming out of em.
rep for being the only one with experience with it so far... thanks
