ok i belive i wasnt specific enough in my last thread.
i want know weather or not to keep light on my babies "ONLY DURING THE PERIOD OF TIME THEY ARE FIRST PUT INTO SOIL UNTIL THEY ACTUALLY BREAK THE SURFACE" of the soil. light or no light?

They do not NEED light till you see green

some folks use light for heat, they like to be warm 80 to 85F

if the seed hasnt sprouted yet and still under soil it really doesnt matter cux light will not b able to penatrate the soil. i leave a light on jus for heat at that stage and wen it does break ground i give it light but at a nice distance away cux new sprouts dont need alot of light and once they have ther first set of true leaves i move the lights a lil closer

I find germinating seeds one of the easiest parts of the whole grow. Germinate, bung 'em in some soil, dampen it and keep it warm in there and you'll get something eventually. Once you start seeing green leaves, put the light on it (not too close).

i agree wit doomah ive tried most methods of germinating and ive found that if u jus put the seed in soil its the best way. i use a seedling starter mix and jus put seed in bout 1/4 inch and so far ive had like 95-100% germ rate

Here is a tip/trick for all of ya

Using Seed Soak water to germinate

it's simple buy a packet of any kind of seeds (I use tomato) put the whole packet in a cup of tepid (room temp) ph'd water, let set for 48 hours, strain the seeds out now put your old seeds in it and leave for 24 hours, simply plant the seeds in medium (I use soil) 1/8 to 1/4 inch deep no light till they pop and keep em warm 80 to 85F should pop within 7 days (mine poped in 2) water em with the seed soak water

the why, ALL seeds have the same basic essential things to begin life and by using seed soak water you are giving your babies more of what they need and replacing what may have dried up in the old seeds
