Tea Recipes?

Hi, I am a new member here on RIU and have been searching through the forums trying to find some Home Brew Tea Recipes or just forums talking about them and I just can't find it. I get the concept behind it and I love the idea of making my own tea for my plants. I do a medical indoor grow for 3 patients and purely organic. Been using the Canna line and really like it but like I said I would love to switch over slowly. Now I am sure there are different teas for different stages (if even used for feed?) I am quite confused on the subject in general. Help?

A good book with lots of info for your reading pleasure would be true living organics by the Rev.
I agree I love that book- great info and recipes for soil & teas at all stages of growth.
I am currently brewing up my first fungal dominated tea based on a recipe from this thread:
https://www.rollitup.org/t/aact-bloom-tea-veg-tea-fungal-tea-myco-tea-recipes-from-the-outdoor-guys.516845/
Anyway here's the recipe:
2 cups of fresh EWC
4-5 tblspn baby oatmeal
3 tblspn soft rock phosphate
Mix these with some clean water until texture is creamy & place inside a small plastic container in warm dry conditions-75-80deg F for 3 days
Compost mix will show signs of mycelium growth(fuzzy white patches) when it's ready for brewing

Bubble the mixture with 2 gal of clean water and:
3 tsp fish hydrosylate
1/2 cup big bloom
2 tblspn kelp meal
2 tsp. Humic acid
Bubble/Brew for 24-48 hrs & apply to plants ASAP

For an all purpose bacterial dominated tea it's even easier:
2 cups fresh EWC
1/2 cup big bloom
1 tsp seabird guano- approx 8 pcs
1 tblspn molasses
2 tsp kelp meal
2 tsp alfalfa meal
2 tsp 5-5-5 happy frog fertilizer
Add this to 2-3 gal of water & bubble/brew for 24-48 hrs...dilute with up to 2 gal if desired but I tend to use it as is. I use no filters but I run the mixture through a colander to remove any large chunks that would otherwise clog my watering can & throw it along with any leftover sediment in with my recycling soil bin.
For a veg or flowering tea I will add or subtract a few ingredients but this is the tea I give my plants most times if at all which is about every 2 weeks or as needed if I see they need a boost. Hope that helps but be sure to read the stickies and get yourself a good book to reference like the revs book and/or teaming with microbes is highly recommended as well. Good luck happy growing

Build a good living soil and you dont need teas. KISS
Sure but a good living soil web takes awhile to become established...teas can help increase activity where maybe there wasn't much happening before. I started out with just bag soil but now that it's been recycled a few times I hardly need to give tea if just to keep the microbial party rockin

Agree just needed to put that out there. Teas are for maintenance I find
I've never seen one benefit brewing microbial teas. I get a lot more benefit top dressing my compost rather than making a tea. Then again, if your compost is properly built you won't need teas.

I agree with Richardrysift on the fact that a good soil web takes a while to establish. But this is mainly when we're talking about fungul networks. Bacterial networks are very easy to establish and take no time.

As for fungal dominated teas, you might want to get a microscope and look for yourself but you'll agree when I say that this is near impossible to achieve. If they take SO long to establish in soil why is it that they would establish in 3 days in a tea?

Go for an all around tea if you're going to but this is what I use 1x per week when I need to

Per 5 gallons of water
1/4 cup alfalfa
1/4 cup kelp

This tea will provide you with every macro and micro nutrient, natural growth hormones/regulators, enzymes, etc..and it can be fed almost a plants whole life as you're feeding the soil not the plant.
