Does tap water in humidifier cause any problems?
Only a matter of time until the atomizer gets built up with calcium and stops working. Could be a week, could be months.I have been seeing that white stuff on my tent floor and on fan. Mine came with a brush n a sponge to clean it. This one won’t last with tap?
Yea you want to use filtered or distilled. Dissolved solids will build up and clog it up. Kinda like a coffee maker.Nice to know. I have it running non stop. Bs
Yea that damn clr never works completely though. I've thrown away coffee makers trying to descale with vinegar, clr. Never fully clears them ime. I just got an ro filter and I never have any build up.If it's not a super cheap humidifier (ie: disposable), there's a product called CLR (calcium, lime, rust remover) that will clean off the buildup from tap water. Available at most all hardware stores and Home Depot, etc. Turn it off, soak for a couple hours, good as almost new!
Using distilled will be less work though.
