Yeah the TD is going to be fun, not really a commercial strain though as it takes too long.We will see if the bag appeal and hoopla around the strain makes it easier to get rid of. I am thinking I am going to end up doing only one of the three strains I have going. I hear Afghan Kush special is awesome for scrogs.

So if I am doing dwc buckets, do I need a PPm meter?
TDS (PPM) meters are pretty essential in hydro; definitely worth the investment if you're going to go the dwc route.

i'd imagine its just like any other hydro gotta have it nice and dialed in.
ya as for the Tangerine dream the 11 weeks is kind of a pain in the ass but all my other strains are 50- 60 days except the c13haze which is also 11
I'm going to Lst the crap out of it and veg for 6 weeks so we will see how much can yield.

so I have a few options, Fox farm soil products, DWC buckets, or I have 8x8 rockwool cubes, sitting on a six in slab, the slab is on top of a 4 inch layer of hydroton, this is all in a five gallon bucket. I will water these 8x8s by hand daily from a reservoir that I will have set up with 2 bubblers to keep it nice and aerated. The soil would take the longest to finish. Would the Dwc buckets and the 8x8s finish the same since they are both hydro and being fed essentially the same. OR since the dwc is constantly in the water would it grow faster. I want to go faster and better. Is DWC the answer?

So I could probably fill that screen with two dwc buckets under the two 400 watters, and two dwc buckets under the 600 watter. then I guesss I could add a couple soil plants on the floor right as you walk in. I guess I will do one tangerine dream, two kings kush and one afghan kush special in the buckets. then one of each on the floor in Fox farm soil. Damn so I hope the hydro store takes the 8x8's back.

hopefully bro!
but ya ive seen some people who are good at Lst and scrog pull 3+ zips off each plant
consistantly
I will get at least 2 pounds with this set up. I have gotten a pound off one 600 before, without using a screen. I should be able to get at least a half lb per plant and thats the minimum. My goal is to get 3.5 lbs with this set up. I have seen others do it.

Thanks Tic me too. I decided I am going to do all DWC buckets, there is enough helpful info on here not to f-up and the quality and speed in finishing is a definite plus. Anyone know any good recipes for these dwc buckets? I have the 3 part GH and powder kool bloom. I will take it back if If I get a better recipe. FIgure I will have about 4 3/4 gallon to work with in a 5 gallon bucket right? any particular meter that I should get? Do i need two meters?

I'm doing 4 Tangerine Dream and 6 Reserva Privada Sour Kush a.k.a. headband in a dwc setup I made. Based off of a ebb n gro monster, its a dwc with automated drain and fill 3 times a day, so all of the buckets share all of the solution, and a 4" round airstone in each bucket. I use a digital ph and ppm meter, and nute with Botanicare cns17 trio plus additional additives.

Thanks bro, I was going to connect mine like yours, the problem with it, is if one of your plants gets sick, the most likely will all get sick. Awesome strains though, you doing a journal?

yessir...all the way till the end....with probably way more pics than are needed....

That's true. But its alot easier and more efficient than doing each bucket separately...I did that with my third grow in my old 4' x 4' tent. It gets very old very quick...or at least for me..not to mention it can be a back breaker depending on how u do it....topping them all off at once instead of each one separately will be a godsend.. plus you can ph/ppm all of the solution at once...

Putting the girls in the DWC buckets tomorrow to start their veg cycles. Dialed in the room in today. Check out the pics. I am going to put a few girls in FOx farm soil and some badass soil amendments to see taste difference etc. I also have another idea i have been meaning to test. I have noticed in all my gardens, that plants put in narrow tall pots seem to grow fast and well. I am thinking the roots dig this grow pattern or something. Anyway i had an idea. I am going to get a 3 foot piece of 4 inch drain pipe. I am going to get a cap for the bottom and shove a 4 inch rockwool in the top. In the middle I will fill it with hydroton. The bottom will also have a screen, so WHen I water from the top, I could just take off the cap and drain the excess water out of the bottom. I will grow this sitting up vertical and water it twice a day, I may put a few pieces of broken up rockwool mixed in with the middle hydroton for water retention on the roots. I am going to throw one of these experiments in there tomorrow. I think i am going to do the afghan ryder auto strain in this experiment. I could move it wherever I want . should be fun. Anyway check out the pics of the almost done room.

looks cool man...your on your way now...how are the roots? are you going to have to top water for a while, or are the long enough they will get to water? I'm puttin my automation through its paces tomorrow and if all goes well I will be putting mine in the buckets Thursday.

today is the day, going to put the girls in their homes. They all have one long tap root, I am going to top water for a week. Most likely only once though, as they get enough water from the bubbles. Happy day....
