top fuel... do you know what white balance is? like kelvin temp?

Well If you're getting picky, the largest f stops aren't necessarily beneficial under these circumstances, and actually can reduce sharpness due to diffraction which is a whole other discussion.

At increasing macro magnifications, depth of field improvements lessen with the smallest apertures.

I wouldn't have bothered to throw this in except you claimed the above advice was bad when in reality it's pretty solid.

I would only add that intelligent composition in frame will help greatly for the best pics. Keeping the trichome subjects parallel with the lens would look better than trying to isolate lots of foreground or background.

Ultimately it's lots of trial and error, and with new toys that's always fun.

it's not like i'm telling him to join the f64 club.
2.8 f stop on a timer..that's gonna be paperthin regardless of macro or not....
suggesting to shoot completely open may be a style of shooting but it is ridiculous to advise.

Try a portrait at f1... focusing on the pupil as the rest of the eyeball starts to fall off. Now that is paper thin 8)
