Taking 6hrs off end of light cycle for flower.

Was just wondering if it's necessary to take the 6hrs off the end or if you could also take if off the beginning. Was helping a friend learn and he wants to push the 6 extra hrs from the start and I've just always taken if off the end which I assume everyone does. Couldn't find any specific info about this I figured it would stress them a bit but is it ok?

Doesn't matter, Imo. I've done it both ways, they still react to the light no matter if its 6 off before or after. Just flip to 12/12 whenever you like. Plants adjust to the light...or lack of ;)

use to adjust an hr a day, but realized after awhile... I am mother nature, so just do it! :bigjoint:

I kinda feel like a dick cause I was like "you can't do it that way!" But then I was thinking well maybe you can idk. Figured I'd ask

You now go straight to 12/12? Is there any difference in the way they flower?
They start flower in 5-7 days...when I flip to 12/12. But I make sure I see preflowers first.
I've noted they are photo plants and I am mother nature, so plants don't need a gradual change, like outdoors, as they respond to light or lack of...so I just do it.

This round i went from veg 18/6. Gave em 12 hrs light , then turned off 12 hrs later for 12 hrs dark. Noticed the lime tips within days and started seeing more flowers immediately!

Much easier this way and I don't worry about setting timer back each day, which can mess up if not set right, so I avoid that by just flipping when i want, i don't worry about if its 12 dark first or 12 light first, just set to what you want and if plants are mature and already preflowered, they will transition to flower much faster.

Good to know. I asked cause I also went with a gradual decrease in lights-on time over the course of 10 days but sometimes I would forget if I set the time back on that specific day. ( Often due to smoking a couple of fatties and becoming a victim of my own success. ) This next flower cycle I'll go from 18/6 right to 12/12 and avoid that.

One last Q Lime - the flower stretch is the same? Or do they grow a little taller when going right to 12/12

Stretch is the same, mostly strain dependant on how much they will stretch. Sativas tend to stretch a bit more than indicas

I find growers that have lights to far or if lights are not intense enough, plants can/will overstretch.

Best I've come up with is train em short and bushy during veg, keep em short as possible, cuz once flip happens, they stretch out a lot!

I keep My plants under 12" prior to flip, now they are 3' and they are Indicas.
