Wuz up guys,

Well I finally went out to walmart and looked for some lamps to purchase....I had a limited amount of cash,so I purchased 2 fluorescent plant lights 65 watts each [130 total watts for those who are too :eyesmoke: to do math] and 2 extra bulbs.
I have 2 questions...

Is this good enough for 2 plants?

How far should they be from the plant? currently about 14in. away
In the little book that the light came with it said keep about 2ft. away,is that true?

Does my lil baby claudia look good?
[she used to be under a 40 watt n 60 watt bulb, till today]
Her southern leaf is yellow....

A: dont use dirt from outside
B: with Flouros keep them as close as possible, that thing is stretched out to the max
C: Fill the pot up to the top.
D: dont use tinfoil, it creates hot spots... Go to $ store find mylar backed wrapping paper
E: How do you plan on flowering them, they can have NO light during that time period.
F: Good Luck
G: sorry to scare you
H: practice makes perfect.

Yeah man he nailed it, I can't stress enough to get those fluoros close!! I grow with CFLs and I have them no farther than 1 inch away from my plants. Those lights should be just fine for those two plants for a good long time.. But as your plants get bigger they will probably need a few more, just add as you go. I grew a plant (bushy as hell) up to one foot in veg. with one 40 watt (150 equivalent) CFL. Just reflect with mylar to use all of your light.

have a fan blow air to circulate..cfls dont get too hot. the book you were reading was probably referring to HIDs. you'll be alright tho, first grows are fun..Im barely finishing up my first grow.

make sure you are using 6500K daylight cfls when vegging..when it comes time to flower you might want to look into getting a HPS light..you can get a 150W for $32

ive had mine grow into the light by accident a few times just over the corse of a day and i havent had a burn yet so dont be too sketchy about it just do your daily routine checkup your plants love routine once again take all the tinfoil out offwhite paint is safer than that but the mylar is king
one more thing id do is top off your cups with a nice soft fluffy coco earth mabey add a touch of bloom juice or phosphate solution (just a drop for babys only) and if you used outdoor earth youll want to lightly squeeze the cups at 3 & 9 oclock then 12 & 6 just to get very important fresh air to the roots (much harder to get air into the clay type dirt from the back yard) easier to drown them too good luck

a fan will be very important in a few weeks
and be sure to figure out a lid system to keep it dark during flowering time
plants can see light just as easy as you and me and if one spec of light hits her leaves when its not sposed to it will mess up her photoperiod and youll be upset with them instead of happy at how they are growing ...

i dont know if it the way im seeing the picture but to me the bottom of the bulb resembles a convex incandesent or pot flood light just want to make sure you got cfl's in action there

ohh yes if you plan on giving her nutrients and you decide to go with somthing like miracle grow (not recomended but) only use the preliquid stuff for your nitrogen boost for babys like that the household dropper 8-7-6 it comes with chelated iron and a chelating agent for the elements already in your soil it'll help balence out the plants diet abit and you wont see yellow leaves if you follow the directions on the bottle exactly.....good luck to you and i suggest reading everything you can and using some common sense and you and her will have a wonderful life together...so long as she dont make your girlfriend jelous....peace

I know you have hella people telling you what you should do, but dont feed them yet..they're babies..dont worry about the yellowing..Just keep things consistent (i.e. fresh air, water, light, and temp) dont overwater, or over nute. Let the thing grow..It is a weed afterall
