4 weeks since sprouting. would that be 4 weeks in veg? idk.

anyway. the roots on all my plants don't seem to have much growth. i have seen pics and the roots are in the reservoir. mine have not even made it out of the 6in net pot. any suggestions?

to me they dont look all that small for the root growth that you are mentioning. Lets start this way, give the details on your grow, nutes, lighting, watering.... everything. that makes it much easier to diagnose these...

If your plant is 4 weeks since it sprouted it would only be starting it's veg stage...the first 3-4 weeks of a plants life is called seedling...after that it's starts it's vegging cycle...which you can make last 1 week or last several months...acting as a mother...depnding on when you want to start flowering. The best time to flower is when the plant tells you it's ready to...that's when it shows preflowers. Letting your plant get to that stage is considered best as the plant is at full maturity to flower, quality and quanity will increase the longer you let your plant mature.

Your plants do look very good though...great job.

thanks for your comments homegrownboy. i understand now. one of the plants i have is much older than the others. i have been putting it in a light tight space for 12hrs a day. been about 3 days. but before i did this i think it was showing the pre-flowers. i think i got a pic. these pic are about 4 days old

I can't actually tell...you need to take close up pics of the stems where the nodes are...if it's female it will have a small pod with little white hairs coming out of the pod...if it's male it will have balls. There are lots of pics on here of male and female preflowers...just do a search under sexing...it should tell you all you need.
