T8 58w Grow

Hi everyone,

So I got 20 x 5ft T8's 58w (5400lm) for next to nothing and they seemed ideal
due to my growing space which is 8x8x1m (1m being the height)

I will be growing short, high yield auto's with 'low stress training' and completely
organic. I have 30 seeds and 30 8-10L pots, I chose smaller pots to restrict the height.

I've grown before but never with fluorescent

Any positive and constructive input would be greatly appreciated

whats those tent measurements exactly? 8x8m?

I don't get it. Your T8's (1.5m) are longer than the tent's height (1m) but I think it's not 8 meters in length, rather 80cm. So how you gunna fit those lights in there?

Unless your grow space is 8mx8mx1m, but even then, how are you gunna get in, your plants are gunna be touching the bulbs before they go into flower with those size pots.

I just don't get it

Hi there,

I have 8mx8mx1m (1m head room) but that's grow area, the pots are in a dug out area.
Sounds strange but it's what I got to work with.

The auto's i'll be using are all less than 1m in height plus i'll be keeping the limbs held down

Thanks

Well you're gunna need to get those plants pretty close to the T8's to get anything substantial from them for sure but I have grown under T8s before. Not the greatest yield but they sure were stinky

I'm hoping for 30g per plant so anything more than that is a bonus

Getting nearly a kilo from 30 plants under those lights using that space you have is highly optimistic. You will be lucky to get 10% of that figure

Why do you think that? I mean what is the actual difference, obviously i wont be growing 30 at once, 1m height for short auto's being trained is more than
enough and with scrog, I see no issues with getting 30g per plant

You said you had 30 8-10l pots which makes one assume you will be growing 30.

Over 1000W of T8 lighting is not worth paying the energy bill for what you get back with yield IMO. Unless your mother is paying the bills.

I grew my very first grow (BigBud) with 5x T8's. The bud was LARFY and small but pleasantly stinky.

I am sure there are others out there that would advise against it but that is what I am saying.

If I were you, with that height you have to work with, I would save and go buy a Quantum Board.

Here is my general plan for now

I, positively and constructively, am telling you to throw that T8 shit away and get one 600w hps setup for around $150 or even less. T8 aren’t even good enough for a shitty fish tank. You are wasting your time, effort, seeds and electricity. Optimistically destroy those garbage autoflower seeds while you are at it and wisely get some decent genetics. You can thank me for my gentle kindness later, when your plans are less than literally insane.

If you really want to grow in that space, don’t. Wait and figure something else out.

Or do whatever, man...glad I don’t have to.

I have seen T8 and T5 grows that my friends have done and they were great so I don't understand your logic

Please explain how I'm gonna put a 600w HPS in a 1m space, I'll wait..

I missed the 1 meter height constraint, my bad.
T5 HO are a whole different beast than old T8s.

I think you are nuts to try, but good luck. Have fun, post results.

One thing you could try is using several of them as side-angle lighting, in the shape of a barn roof, ya know? It should help with he canopy penetration problems old fluoros have.

I realize the T5 HO's are better but this is the opportunity I have right now

Auto's are also my only option due to time restraints

My plan is only to run 10 bulbs for the set up and that will leave extra for sides
if need be

Hey guys,

So it's been a learning curve but going great, mainlining in my tight space is really paying off.
A couple of species starting flowing early due to what i can only guess is because of too much
stress or PH but the rest seem fine.

I had PH issues in the beginning but soon realized I just need to stop and allow the organic buffers
do their job so i don't even check anymore and haven't had an issue since.

You're probably wondering where all my leaves are? Heavy defoliation is the reason, I'm hoping
more exposed areas will lead to more bud.

My next step is to replace the T8's with Philips Master OU LED T8's

Fun experiment so far!

Looks pretty good for what you had to work with...well done...g/l

You would have had better success with lst then mainlining an auto. It is never recommended to prune autos due to their short veg time...and mainlining takes a lot of veg time away.

I realize people say that but I've seen the results of mainlining and defoliating the auto's im growing and he gets 4-6 oz pp, that's with MH lights but I expect to do better than I am now when my LED's come

I was hoping to get 30g per plant, i'll easily get that so im more than happy
