t5 are great for clones and vegging plants, I have never flowered with them.
T5s consume an unnoticeable amount of electricity.

Sorry nobody has been helpful! T5 being a small flourescent uses very little in the electrical department. Personally I have T5 lights, however they are on a saltwater reef tank growing coral... really they are. They work awesome I have 12 4 foot 54 watt T5's over a 125 gallon aquarium... corals seem to love it and noticed negligible difference in power bill.... however I do notice a difference when I run my 600w HPS or 250w MH in my grow room! For early veggers I quit using the MH and only run T12s now and the HPS in bloom room. I have been thinking of hooking up some T5's in there... long story short, it wont hurt your pocket book.

i use them and love em.. (for vegitation).. i bought the HIGH OUTPET (HO T5'S) for a fraction of the cost of the TECH brand.... your local hydro store should sell em... mine are also internal ballast.. love em'.... i paid 100 USD for mine.. but mine only has the 4 x 36" bulbs, 2 heat bulbs and 2 light ones.... perfect for a small cloning/veg station....

Thanx man that helped out alot... I was just messing with the 48 minute thing big guy...
I have a super question now... Anybody who could throw some opinions out there at me... Here goes.... First of all I would love to have a veg and bud area ok? So with that said I have made two 5 gallon bubble bucket systems as of right now what could i do to have one mother plant, clones, and have buds producing all at the same time... What kind of set up could i use.... Such as lighting, the hydro system, etc... Ive been putting a lot of thought into this and cant seem to get anything complete ly put to gether in my head... HELP!!! thanx

well botanicaire has a 25 clone mini system that will work for a vegitation/cloner for you, its an aeroponic system.... you can use whatever hydro system you want for your bloom, i use an ebb and flow system, again botanicaire, 3 x 3 + 2 1 x 3's.. i clone directly off my plants in bloom.... i use a 40 gallon resevoir, co2 system (controlled and measured) and a 1000 watt HPS..
Im just starting my system and i dont know what to buy for my lighting system could someone tell me what i could get for both flowering and vegitation in lowes or walmart were i live thats all we gat here but i cant get anything that the cops could infa-red. I really need help and i do have two 48 inch f40t12 w/3050 lumens 40 watts color temp 6500k

check out ebay for a used or rebuilt 400 watt hps, you can get one for the fraction of the cost of a new one.... this will get you from seed to smoke, and you can always expand later as cash flow permits... but dont "chince" on a light,, its the most important item, so dont buy something you will later replace, get something you can add onto.. like a 400 watt hps etc...

what do i do about the infa-red that the pigs use because they flew around yesterday and i heard that hps, produce alot of heat and i just want some good bud to smoke not end up in jail so do you think they would be able to see a hps are there at least any systems that are easier to buy parts and build and works . Thanks for the help

On the other hand, from what I've read, they work on windows and un insulated walls (I could be wrong) But with an insulated wall, in a room that is supposed to be <80F I can't see them breaking down your door. I close off the AC vents to rooms I don't use. Those rooms get hot.

oh, how big a light you thinking? 4 1000watter's? I doubt a single 400W would show up at all.
Not T5's but awesome lights. Just bought 2 of these for clone/vege.
