T5 lighting question/discussion.

Im planning on starting a grow with a t5 HO 6 Lamp fixture. I am going to purchase the 3000k Bloom bulbs and the 6500k Grow spectrum bulbs. MY question is, until the bloom stage should i run 6x6500K grow bulbs with 30,000k lumens? Or should I mix 4x6500k grow and 2x3000k bloom together, then when the plants start to bud go with 3xgrow and 3xbloom?

Also I would like to hear any input from experienced growers who use T5 lighting throughout the whole growing process. Thanks for info.

well im still kinda newbish but my first grow i did use my t5 throughout and i got decent buds but they weren't very dense and i know it wasn't the strain. i did have to prune everything up to a foot below the light. so you should get one nice cola and a bunch of shitty popcorn buds. so i decided to only use the t5 for veg

I would do 4/2 and then switch it the opposite 4/2 a week before you switch to 12 12. you can even try slowly switching the ratio to all one kind throughout the grow to simulate the real world. As winter comes it gets gradually more and more red overall because the angle the sun is. Since the plant will produce buds where it receives the most red spectrum (also blue but more red) I like to flatten it out and then show the plant that all the bud sites get good amounts of red by putting the light 2 inches away ( or closer) with out touching, a foot below is way too far that how you get fluffy buds. you need to flatten out your grow with t5s. Like a good lst or scrog. I use cfls and tek 55 t5s. With the cfls you can surround the plant with the t5s you cant. That's their biggest fault. So you have to flatten your tops and make them easily adjustable to keep it close when flowering with them.

I run a 50/50 mix in my fixture start to finish with good results, I veg for very short periods then super crop and LST to keep them short.

Thanks for replies guys! I forgot to mention I was going to make my light adjustable to be able to keep the fixture 1" above the canopy. Also would it be a good idea when my plants start to bud to surround the sides of the plants with CFLs? And I was planning on LST and SCROG my plants so all the buds can get even lighting.

Also I forgot to mention I am growing autoflowering femenized plants. Plan on doing lights 24 hours then switch 20/4.

See the thread "LED without LEDS..." in the INDOOR GROWING forum. He's (the pr0fesseur) using T5 aquarium lights with excellent PAR values to get unbelievable results.
