switching to 12/12

i read in an issue of high times that switching your plants once or twice while they are vegging to a 12/12 light cycle for a day can make the plants bushier.

has anyone ever tried this?
 
haha i didn't really say i was gunna try it yet i wanted to hear the opinions of others. it did come from a reliable source though.
 
did YOU read it personally or did you say that someone read it and then told you about it???
 
it's in the february 2007 issue. it says 8th hydro report on the cover. in the groworld section it has an article called "the pot whisperer!" by The Medicine Man and Sister Sativa. It says:

"During the vegatative stage, the lights should be on for at least 18 hours per day. At about two to three weeks, turn off the lights for 12 hours two days in a row. This will cause the foliage to thicken."

Now i sort want to believe this because who ever wrote it must know what they are talking about...it's high times!
 
have you ever practiced this before? it seems that if it was really THAT effective then people on rollitup would have been talking about it
 
no, I dont think that he has tried it- sorry to answer for him but he probably read the same article ya know?! gice it a whirl... see what happens and then share
 
my buddy actually does it every grow. it works out great. Thicker stems, more nodes, a lot more bushier. but i myself haven't tried yet.
