A gigantic start towards making progress on the issues is changing the tone and the general understating about gun ownership. I dont think we need any type of sweeping regulation or draconian approach. Simply stop the NRA from dictating policy and articulate a general principle on gun ownership drawn from the sentiments of the majority of americans and respectful of an intelligent and historically informed interpretation of the 2nd amendment and the legal precedents that follow.
