Super Soil Question - What Should I Ph My Water to?

Hey guys, I might have missed this in the threads I've went over, but I just can't seem to find it. If I'm missing seeing it in an obvious place, please refrain from roasting me and just provide the simple answer.

In Subcools supersoil mix with roots organic, what should I pH my water to?
also
If i substitute a coco-based medium (like harvest moon), what should i pH my water to then?

i use to ph to 6.5, however I now do 7 because it's easier

not only do you get the most accurate reading from your meter, but even the cheaper ph pens can accurately identify neutral solutions

when using RO water that is low in minerals(0-30ppm) you have no buffering ability(edit:almost none), so when your water is in your soil: it matches the pH of the soil.

edit2: and this is provided you aren't letting the container "dry out" before watering. dry spells favor ph drops upon watering

I PH my water to between 6.5-7.0 7.0 being neutral.

Subs mix which is self feeding calls for not phing maybe if you have heavy/chlorinated city water let it sit out for like 24 or so hours before use.

To be honest, I have my own soil mix similar to Sub's but not as hot, i used to supplement with light feed/nutes and I mean light watering like every 2ish days, with light water adding inbetween with great success.

Once my partner and his "professional grower" buddy starting nagging to ph the water we / I ( as head dude / only real sugar daddy for my girls ) have had more problems/nute issues etc. then I had ever had all my prior grows, some of my best looking btw I did poo, and didnt know much let alone to ph water.

Like was stated above a good neutral i.e. ph, will allow the plant and soil to find a happy meduim and develop its own symbiosis for the plant and soils success, once you go like lower then 6.8 higher then 7.3-7.4 ( most tap water is 6.8-7.2-7.4 in my expierance ) you have issues. Most R.O water I get is about 6.9-7.0 which most people would PH down :-/ ....... my tap water is 7.2 nearly always with 320-330 ppm, the well water at parents which is a ways away, and very nice and fresh well water is about 7.2-7.4 with about 500 ppm. O.K. my point being I have been more successful must using the water as it comes and not messing with the ph, the soil and pockets of alkaline material or acidic material will osomosize in and help the balance as well.

Also when i was using light-med so 1/4-1/2 strength organic bottled stuff, I still never phed and I think only had 1 issues once..... again now that I have been "phing" and such have had more issues this 1 start of grow then the 3 completed ones prior.

I think soi/ living soil and a good mix is much more balanced and flexible / forgiving then people think unless of course your tap / neutral water is like 5.5-6.0 or 7.5-8.0 on a consistant basis.

I'm on municipal water, 220ppm @ 8.1 pH from the tap. I bubble it in a large trash can for 24 hrs to evaporate the chlorine and then I add Gen Hydro pH down to anywhere between 6.5-7.0. I have to turn off the bubbler for the pH to remain stable though. The pH down evaporates very easily if I leave the bubbler on.

Anyhow, I'm in 7 gallon pots of 50% Roots 50% Super Soil mixed per recipe and I've never had plants that look so good, especially after switching back to tap water. Smartest thing I ever did. I was using an R/O filter and supplementing with Gen Organics Cal Mag, but even doing that it was hard to stay on top of CaMg deficiencies. Absolutely no problems whatsoever after switching back to tap water. It's got what plants crave, lol.

I dont understand why everyone still deals with this issue! Follow the directions to the "T" and you should have no issues! If you start dealing in PH, and meters.... your doing to much! Sub didn't use them in the many step by step's he posted! Dont mean to roast anyone so dont get hurt when reading this.

He does make mention of adding pH down to his water to get it in the optimal range. I believe the video is on his YouTube page.

It probably doesn't make a huge difference, but what the fuck? It's easy as pour, mix, and look at my tri-meter. So I just do it. Probably a residual habit from growing with liquid nutrient in Promix. I do like to constantly keep an eye on my water though, just to make sure nothing funky is going on.

Dolomite lime?
very cheap and neutralizes PH
in an organic setting if your tap water isnt wacked out, the ph shouldnt be a problem, as the microbes should keep things in check.

I never liked Face Book just a bunch of drama IMO so we axed ours..
Were just fine!

Sub
Hey there sub this is kind of off the phed h20 subject but I was just wondering if I can use pro mix bx to substitute the soils in the super soil mix?. Cause here in the big island of hawaii we only have one hydro store and they never have anything you need but there the only ones who sells roots and there's ffof but no light warrior. No you can not without having defienceys. He explained this numerous times. If you have access to roots then why not use it? If not roots go with all FFOF, dont worry about adding light warrior jus keep ur supersoil less then 1/2 of the container.

We have been PH downing our well water from 7.8 to between 7.0-7.2, and they love it. Anything lower and we start to show signs of Cal/Mag def.
