Super Soil and Base Mix Pricing

I plan on making my own super soil and base mix of sir sticky's recipe. After pricing everything out, it will cost about $320.00 total for both batches of super soil and base. Then around $200.00 for each follow up batch until I run out of the smaller amount items like lime and epsom salt. Everything from down to earth I ordered from waytogrow.net out of Colorado. They had the best pricing on Down to Earth additives with everything in stock. They had DTE myco spores but they were $70.00 for 5lbs. while Age Old had them for $17.00, and that will last a very long time. All the large bag items like peat moss and coco, I can get from local hydro shops and garden centers for a good deal. Still trying to find mushroom compost pricing but my buddy said he found a landscape shop that carries it. I already have a 40lbs bag of lime. Don't ask why.

cool bro....thanks!.......yeah, it is a bit of investment in the beginning, but buying the big bags of ingredients really pays off in the end.....i bought big bags of everything except mycos....still have not bit on that one, but yesterday i bought a $100 bag of kelp meal cause it was on sale for $65......that should last me a few years.....just started recycling my soil this month, i have about 100 gal of it....just tested out at 7 ph, and 800 ppm...........raw roots tests at 6.7 and around 700 ppm.....

How are you going about recycling? What process and items do you use to break down root matter. I was thinking about trying that but I have to do a lot more research into how it all works.

Found some at home depot when I got the peat moss. No bugs were present at mixing and the stirring today even after sitting a week. But it really does stink, that's for sure.

expect mushrooms to grow in your pots indoors if you use it. this can lead to more problems than you think.

just letting you know, it happens.... I know a guy that tried it, leads to bugs... and not the typical ones.

Also, the mushrooms (when they bloom) retain a ton of moisture and add to the humidity of the room.

Just seems silly to put that in the mix, but what do I know.

However most fungi release Co2 while fruiting. Not sure if there will be any trade off. The amount of Co2 may be negligible and it sinks. haha I bet it does stink...
