super soil 17 days flower hows it look?? very first grow

This is my Aurora indica 17 days into flower. Only water and humic acid/myco solution added. Was wondering if these were on track. Feedback greatly appreciated either way! Also I have been defoliating and did the extreme defoliation on the 29th. I know its controversial but my dude swears by it and my plant was way way overcrowded! Oh also I'm having heat issues I was under 80 till a week and half ago when it got real hot and muggy. I have 2 6" fans blowing in and an 8" fan blowing out. Also have two small fans blowing on canopy to reduce heat at the cola. This new 400 Watt hps get really hot!! Bringing in dehumidifier tomorrow will that help lower temps a few degrees? this is my bottom branch..this is before extreme defoliation and after a 50% defoliation.

Cmon man it still looks great!..LOL..it all grows back in like a week with newer better bud sites down the long bottom branches. Atleast this strain, but its the only one I've ever grown so. I think its going well hard to get good pics on 3.2 Mega pixel phone but buds are looking good. Ya growth slowed a little I guess from defoliating but not to were I'm

ATTACH] I'll take it looks like I got about 40 other "colas" all down the plant especially on bottom branches. 4 of my bottom branches are bigger with more buds than a lot of plants I've seen even after medium to heavy defoliation 3 times throughout its little life. Not getting defensive I asked so...just curious what u think is wrong with it?

a dehuey will raise temps inevitably

looks good, especially for no leaves. i've grown a few aurora indicas and you'll love the smoke. it'll be interesting to see the end result. i've always believed that leaves are the factory of the plant. GL

I will second that. Just wish it had some more leaves since leaves produce the bud! But its good your trying different methods. You will come to find out which training methods work best for you. Still you will have some buds to smoke. Nothing better. Keep it up. Good luck

Thanks guys I did a lot of reading about this and also took it on good advice from two seasoned growers I know. I Def know where you are all coming from I was like what??? Do what now?? When they told me what to do but I had a total cluster fuck that pic of before

Read a few places that there's enough leaf around the bud to photosynthesize. But then I read the opposite to so..we'll see I'm willing to learn and like doujadaze said atleast I got some buds to smoke and I love my indicas to! Thanks all will post some pics in couple weeks!

Let us know how the different technique affects your yield.

Thanks 3rd coast dank. I'm kind of freaking I just left forflorida for 15 days..I put the plant, which is in a 5gallon cloth pot into a plastic tub and wattered the shit out of it till there was like 3" of water in bottom and threw in an airsone hooked to a pump to hopefully keep water from going stagnant and oxygenate the roots some. I also moved the hps up some and added some extra cfl's and a led light shining on cola. Hopefully its getting enough light and not drowning..it sucks haVe to be so stealth to grow 1 fucking plant that I can't ask anyone to take care of it for me. OHIO 2014 MEDICAL CANNABIS! I'll post pics when I get home. If u Google EXTREME DEFOLIATION u can read a shit ton about it from both sides.

So if any one is still interested I believe I'm in week six now. When I left for Florida I switched out the 400 Watt hps with a 150 Watt and added more cfls on the sides. Good thing cuz while I was gone we had a heat wave where I live and temps were in the 90's with heat index of +104°. SO I believe it suffered from not having enough light but I guess its better than dead plants. Anyway here's where I'mat..

so now I have a 150 on top and a 150 on the front hanging vertical. Got a dehuey yesterday for $40 with Digital settings a timer the works LOL great deal. Got a co2 pad hanging and just mixed up a batch of yeast and sugar and made a little co2 dispenser of sorts...we'll see about that..think I might have root rot cuz my tips are turning yellow/ brown or I just over watered cuz when I got home from Florida it was dry as fuck.I hope not root rot cuz I use a ton of beneficial fungi to prevent that sort of thing. We'll see when it dries out in a day or two...please post questions, comments, and prayer requests..

I think it would have done better with all the leaves on now all I see is sticks, sticks don't absorb light lol.

Well one benefit is better air circulation which was of major importance because I just got a dehuey yesterday and my RH would hit 95% sometimes. I don't want to argue either for or against because I don't have any side by side comparisons but with all due respect I doubt you do either..so on that note, better lighting, lower RH, hopefully some descent co2 and gonna start using an air stone to oxygenate my water hoping for improvement. Shit I still got 5-6 weeks to go.. from what I hear AI takes a lot longer than Nirvana sais it does..which is cool with me I have a 40×100 eyepiece and have been checking trichomes. Most are still pretty clear with some cloudy ones.. that eyepiece is awesome. Trichomes are crazy looking little fuckers its pretty cool to watch them form for the first time. Hope I never lose hat excitement!!

I don't have side by sides but I have tried this before and my leafy plants always produced more. Big leaves = big buds.

On my next grow I think I will do one of each. I think defoliation probably works better in hydro but you gotta remember its gonna add time to the grow so I think in the long run it'll work out OK..hoping for a growth spurt here read super soil tends to sputter out a bit around now so gonna try adding some organic nutes..you also gotta remember all I've added so far is myco, humic acid and molasses so still got a ways to go before I personally discredit this technique.

So I reported my good plant in a seven gallon smart pot from 5 gallon and filled with super soil and happy frog with a bunch of myco mixed it. Been 24 hours and no wilting or signs of real stress. Think my super soil sputtering out hopefully the new SS will pump it up gonna look into alfalfa tea read its the shit. Got some hygrozyme to eat up any bug larvae and dead roots etc..crazy thing I have a relatively inexpensive ($14) electronic soil tester and have Bennett geting steady 7.0 but today both plants were in the 4's had just swattered with 6.4 Ph solution can electronic ballasts throw them thing off?
