Super Silver Haze-Coco Coir-LED

Starting a SSH grow, pictures to come. The basics are ILGM seeds, coco coir, biobizz nutes, 5x5 tent, 3000W KINGLED light(might use 2 for flower, we'll see). Looking forward to the grow, all input welcome.

72 hours in the coco, 19/20 have popped. The 4 in the top left are just random bag seeds that I'm going to give away to a friend.

7 days in. I'm definitely leaning towards running 2 lights once they get 2-3 weeks into veg. I think I'll also need to get a humidifier to run into my intake for better control on that. Overall, pretty pleased with my setup. Haven't grown in about 5 years so I gotta brush up a little bit.

Went ahead and put them in 1 gallons. The roots had developed much more quickly than I figured. Definitely need to get better control on humidity. Temp staying pretty consistent in the 74-78 range, humidity struggling to stay at 40%.

Hung some wet towels to get humidity up to the lows 60s, switching to 18/6 tomorrow. Temps should be 68-70 with lights off so that gives me a solid range of 68off-78on. I think I over watered a little so definitely going to let them dry out before I water again.

Day 14 of Seedling stage. Growth has been slow, started giving them a 50% mix of bio heaven, root juice and bio grow. Just gave them a .5L between all 19, will see how they respond and make adjustments.

Day 21, the overwatering early slowed things down more than I expected. Starting to see better growth now that they've dried out. Temps are staying consistent, humidity has been difficult to keep up but I've been able to keep it in the 55-65% range. Will start to slowly bump up the level of nutrients they're getting.

Day 28, seeing a lot more daily growth. Watering cycle dialed in pretty well, Temps, humidity and PH staying consistent.

Hi dude I don't mean to sounds like a negative nelly, but did you buffer your coco?, you look like your having some ph issues (the yellow 'lightning' marks on the leaves).

It's really hard to run organics with coir and it's not very advicable. So many threads with people struggling trying to run organics in coir following Mr. Canuck or some other clown. While it probably says you can run coir on the bottles you also have to take in to consideration that the nutrient manufacturers only intention is to sell products.

You need a salt based complete plant food in readily available form to get good results in hydro. You're currently mixing growing styles and that most often leads to problems. Its really hard to not get mag def with Biobizz running peat based soil, that's an even bigger issue in coir with it's leaching properties.

I soaked it with distilled water and a little bit of calmag before I transplanted into 1 gallons, which I'm kinda kicking myself for overwatering and not letting them dry out before transplanting. About half of them have been looking a little rough and my thought was that they were stressed from the overwatering/transplanting and they would come out of it soon. Haven't gotten a ton of runoff but the ph has been in the 6.0-6.3 range which I would like to be a tad lower. What are your thoughts on what I should do going forward?

This is the first time I've grown straight coco. I previously ran rdwc's. Any thoughts are super appreciated, I'm not shy to constructive criticism

I think I already posted what I think you should do and what's causing you problems. Do hydro practices with hydro instead of trying to mix growing styles and techniques.

Switch to a complete salt based food. There's so many brands but to mention a few GH, Canna, Floraflex, Dyna Gro, Jacks, MegaCrop. Canna Coco is great in Coir and really easy to use, just part A and B from start to finish and that's it.

What Wastei said. Plus, you've already learned that too much water lying around in too big a pot will give you root-zone issues. Coco is for hydro and you will need to supply O2 via frequent watering, with plenty of run-off (or careful recycling).

Okay awesome, I think I've got the watering schedule down to where it's not too dry or too saturated. I'm using canna coco, I'll get some A and B to remedy the issues I'm having. Thanks for the help guys.

Another tip is to flush the coco with pH water after adding the calmag, stops any build up before use as wastei said it leaches (absorbs/holds nutrients)....
A flush every other feed wouldn't hurt either.
Make sure your coco has gone fairly dry before adding water, seedlings will point their leaves up slightly when they are thirsty, also watch out for purple stems that's another sure sign of consistent overwatering (or other issue) .

I start my seedlings in 6 inch net pots you can use them for coco too, helps to stop overwatering as the holes help air the coco out and allow more oxygen to roots. They're cheap and can transplant with zero stress.

Please stop giving bad advices. If you have to flush every other feed you're feeding solution is to strong. You will only cause pH fluctuations doing this.

Please tell me how giving a plant a flush at the CORRECT PH every other feed will cause pH problems?
Flushing your plants will help balance your pH not make it worse LOL?
If I over do something a flush has always gone a long way for me.
I have read grow bibles and text books that's where the information came from.
Bad advice? Your telling they guy to load his coco up with salt based food! When you can clearly see he's got too much of something in his coco, adding to what's in it already will make things worse surely?
