Super Lemon Haze not so lemony after all

I have now had a chance to grow a phenotype of the infamous Super Lemon Haze and after about a 3 weeks cure I sit here smoking my third joint. The clone came from a friend of a friend. The plant its is pretty vigorous.

For some reason I expected it to be 'Super Lemony' but given its lineage it all makes sense, the flavor is akin to a 'catpiss' or a 'citrus' mixed with the flavor thats full bodied tone has come to be known as haze. The yield is also not to bad but it is not one of your towering tall thick cola but round buds about fist sized in my enviroment. The grow did not go well, I used a new soil mix which was terrible, terrible grow but this plant pulled through and delivered some ounces of quality herb with the flavor that I would plainly describe as "catpiss or "citrus" " + haze. The lemon skunk flavor is not inherited in this phenotype at all.

what kindof soil do you usually use

thats interesting. i grew three out. similar pheno, all were lemony with a cut of pine. and some other citrus like terpens. i also have grown out a kaboom by tga, way more lemon flavour. in fact i just crossed the two, lemon drop.
but, if you are looking for a stronger lemon flavour try kaboom or wait til your area has a cutting (donated to caregivers at later date) of my lemon drop

i had a supe lemon and it was very citrusy with 0 cure

Lemon skunk , is way more lemony, what I am saying is that the Super Lemon Haze does not inherit this taste, at least the phenotype that I grew. I am not implying that I do not like the Super Lemon Haze as it is very good indeed, I am also not implying that I don't like the taste, I am just saying that it is not really that lemony...

normally I use fox farms ocean forest but this was done with promix mixed with dolomite lime

Ive grown out 2 from seed so far. I cut a branch off a little early for last new years and tried to quick dry. The lemony taste was there at first..

Now after a long cure the 'lemon' anything is completely gone. But, it does have another very nice smell and taste, just not lemony. It may be the haze side I'm not sure this has been my only haze. All I know is when I dial it in my vape, it tastes like candy. Sitting on about 7ish mo. cure right now.

yea, my Super lemon haze scrog wasnt lemony at all..

When it was first chopped it was their but only slightly.
Really a shame. its misinformation calling it Super lemon haze really..

It was great smoke though however. But next time i would try lemon skunk. Meant to be very lemony.

My cut is so lemony your lips taste like lemons, lip smacking delicious and the high is stellar, I got a thread posted of her.
I'm more of an indica lover but this weed is some kill, very tasty & potent.
Yea it just might be you guys phenos mine is more hazy and takes 12 - 13 to finish, that haze taste is present as well but the lemon dominates.

The best sativas allways smell like cat piss,the best pheno in super silver haze smells just like cat piss

My slh pheno wasn't very lemony either but the high is great. Had some heat issues so I know next run will be better.

My SLH was Super Lemony.... SUPER!.... I should say "IS" Cuz I still have like 8g left... Not very potent potent, which sucks from other phenos and better cuts, but I only bought 1 seed...lol.... I am totally gonna get 5 seed pack soon, as alot of people loved it.... It was great, but MY least fav from the 3 I grew.... SAGE I grew smelled Hella like cat piss, so I totally kept it.... Totally a keeper, and got lucky it was a freebie too.... SUPER SUPER Potent after 4+ weeks cure especially... It's a real light green, almost yellow looking nugs, and smells like total potent cat piss galore.... My fav was the A Train and SAGE.... Guess cuz they were totally different, and had variety of smoke, and 1 sativa dom, and 1 Indica dom...... And SAGE was a better cut than my SLH... But I really would like to find a keeper SLH, with super potent nugs, but that keeps the same smell as the one I have now... Super sticky, and Sour Lemony taste and smell.... Especially when ya give it a nice lil squeeze .... Cuz it really wouldnt smell alot if kept untouched, but if you brushed up against it, or messed with it.... Phew!...... Lemon galore.... But my cut didnt have the cat piss smell.... I'm glad, cuz alot of ppl didnt like the sage because of that reason...lol...(they dont know whats up... Specially ladies)
