Super frosty, but not long lasting

Maybe take a look at your trichomes through a microscope see if the heads were knocked off during drying. They could also be immature?
Just wild guesses...

I've had some strains frosty but lack kick. Others less frost but wonderful effects. I usually cut a bud or two and pop it in my volcano on 420° and give it a spin before I chop. I like mine at the cloudy stage with very little gold. I have found some strains like slh if taken a bit early can be quite racy. But mostly I've found it to be strain then pheno dependent. At the moment I'm enjoying some bigworm Berry balz cut at ~53 daze. I tested it and enjoyed the spacey effects. Try it before you chop. imho

Not sure if this is the right place for this post, but I have a question. I got some bud that is suuuppeer frosty, but whenever I smoked it, I didn’t stay high very long. Maybe 20-30 min? Is there a reason why?
I smoked from the volcano vaporizer
How old is the bud?
That makes a HUGE difference!

good fresh bud is way longer lasting than dry crusty bud...
If it was kept in a jar it will keep indefinitely... but if its just in a bag itll degrade.

I just made a fresh batch of hash from my latest run and the high from it lasts twice as long as the little bit of hash (from same strain) i have left from my previous run.

It could also just be the strain.

The bud in the pic looks like it's a purple strain. The buzz you describe is typical of most purple strains I have smoked.

Easily could have been chopped to early, I see people doing it all the time. They figure oh its frosty, and its been 7-8 weeks lets cut it, when really it needed 2-3 more weeks to properly mature and ripen.
I dunno about this. Yesterday I smoked some bud i chopped that got light burned at start of week 5 (currently on day 3 week 6) and i was high AF. Albeit i was intensely on edge for the first 20 mins of each bong lol. I think some strains just lack, like big bud, though my plants are actually BB lineage

Preemie weed. That’s a very telltale sign of immature flowers

You can not know about it all you want, because you obviously don't know...... Its a fact, TONS of new growers chop their plants to early, and then complain about the high, or about the taste and smell. Chopping early is one of the biggest reasons for lame weed with little to no high. Sure some strains aren't as potant as others, but many people also just chop to early and miss out.

Just because you got high doesn't mean your weed was at its proper potential. I've grown many hundreds of plants since '05 when I started, and watched friends grow many hundreds more.

I almost made that mistake of harvesting too early last time, but you helped set me straight. The buds really swelled and I could notice a drastic difference from the time I was originally gonna harvest. Thanks again Thundercat. I sure wouldn't question you.

100% untrue.
There is ZERO difference in potency between trichs as soon as they show and trichs allowed to run their full course to "finish."

Test em in a lab. I have on 3 strains. I know others who have done the same. In fact, a couple strains between us had trichs test at slightly higher thc in week 5 than at week 9 before chop.

Ripened bud may test different and may even produce a different type of buzz. But as far as thc potency goes... it is the same all throughout the grow.

I didn't say it was less potant..... Read what you quoted.

You told me about that testing a few months ago and while surprising I didn't doubt you.

While I don't know precisely what it is about properly ripened buds that makes them different, they definitely produce a better longer lasting high in my experiance. Perhaps it is terpene related....
