SUPCHAKA'S CURE ALL!
You guys ready for a long ass post full of garble and pictures?!
I've tried so many ways to make oil and they all just kinda run together in my head so I'm going to make some maybe different? Maybe I'm posting some other dudes exact sheeeeit and I just forgot? It's possible. Im doing mini run style here.

What I needed:
Crockpot mini on low

mini coffee grinder with 1/2oz of mini LA con, GSC

mini bottle of 99% ISO (16oz vons or safeway)

mini mason jar, something that can withstand cold.

I said mini didnt I?!
So I ground up all the bud, its funny how spongey it was after. It was like playing with dry ice hash.

So then I took the fluffy goodness and put it into a coffee filter and wrapped it with a rubber band. I did this twice. Wow that grout is nasty :) KIDS!

Then I put the weed in the jar and put it in the freezer with the alcohol for about 2 hours.

Once they've got nice and chilly together I pour the alcohol into the jar and shake it up all while leaving it in the freezer. Every hour or so I squeeze the filter against the glass with a spoon to juice her out. I did this for like 7 hours, just kinda throughout the day.

After I get tired of waiting I take the filter out and give it a squeeze with some wide vice grips and two little pieces of wood. Oops didnt get that pic.

So I put it in the crockpot now and set it on low, it took a fucks ages to evaporate still, about 3 hours. I did it in the backyard just to be safe, always be sketchy when heating a flammable liquid! The crockpot reached 200 degrees by the end so I'm pretty sure it decarbed after that long so my other test went out the window. Once it reduced down nearly all the way I did add a couple drops of water to it just to add a lil more time for the alcohol to evaporate if any was left. I made these meds to be taken orally or topically. Since straight oil would be a bitch to try and rub in I added 1/2tsp olive oil and a few drops of liquid lecithin.

The 2 will keep the oil in a fluid state when cooled. The olive oil helps stretch it out a teense and make easier to apply. The lecithin is to metabolize the oil better in case you take it orally, probably not bad for skin either! Anyways I let them all mix together while still in the crock pot and then suck it up with a mini syringe! It made 6ml, of which 2.5 was olive oil. Should be pretty powerful.

I'm running some top secrets tests with it at the moment and if they prove successful I'll share them :)

Guess I should have put this in the concentrate forum. Although eating is one form of delivery for mine so who knows!?

Is its purpose topically?

I would add a dash of high proof ethanol if so...will help absorption
Yeah topical as well, I thought about doing the ethanol but since I plan to put this on some already tender/damaged skin I didnt want it to burn. My first test is that it does itch a bit at first though.

Ethanol raises polarity and acts as a permeation enhancer.. so will oleic acid and other "light" unsaturated fatty acids.. as will propylene glycol
There are many things really.. I just suggested etoh as he already put it in olive oil, and I would prefer to ingest it/use in general over things like dmso or pg

Everclear is 95%
There's also a russian brand called spirytus that's listed as 96% (both are actually 95.6%)

When adding to your saturated oil or what have you, you really don't need much 5-10% by volume..why I said a dash.. really you could use any alcohol but the impurities reduce its effectiveness

doh! ok ic ic...ethanol= everclear. Can you get that in a liquor store? Haven't had it since high school and it wasn't sold in stores back then.

ps...nice thread Chaka ;)

Everclear isn't available in California, Bacardi 151 is as high as you can get. Thats why I went with the 99% ISO otherwise I would have used the booze!

Supchaka got a question for ya so here we go.i took all the buds off a plant i didnt like.put the buds in a strainer poured acetone over them.the acetone turned a light green in the bowl.i then noticed a thick residue on the bottom of the bowl.the next thing i did was placed the bowl on a coffee pot warmer for 3-4 hours.the acetone deduced to a very dark damn near black liquidity oil.so me being Mr.smart guy,i strained the oil to see what the hell was that thick stuff was on the bottom of the bowl.i let the stick stuff dry onthe filther and scraped it into a small container then placed everything in the freezer. So how bad did i fuck up ?

dont use acetone its dirty
"Acetone is produced directly or indirectly from propylene. Approximately 83% of acetone is produced via the cumene process, as a result, acetone production is tied to phenol production. In the cumene process, benzene is alkylated with propylene to produce cumene, which is oxidized by air to produce phenol and acetone:"

List of 99% or better acetone analysis 21 brands

"All 21 acetone sources were found to contain four of the common acetone impurities expected; diacetone alcohol (2-pentanone,4-hydroxy-4-methyl-), mesityl oxide (3-penten-2-one,4-methyl-), phorone (2,5-heptadien-4-one,2,6-dimethyl-) and phenol"

"A large number and broad range of different chemical impurities were found, dependent upon the acetone source. These chemical impurities ranged in complexity from simple organic acids, alkanes and olefins, to a variety of substituted benzyl compounds (to highlight just a few)."

Pretty badly.

First if buds are wet you freeze before quick wash (I freeze dry too since there is some moisture still)

Second acetone, unless lab grade (ultra resi-analyzed) is likely to be contaminated and hydrated. Even with lab grade acetone your still stuck with acetone (read the msds). Using lab grade if you purged it super well and rewashed with ethanol, perhaps freezing for a dewax and repurge you may clean it up. If it*wasn't*lab grade acetone then there is no cleaning it. Avoid acetone in the future.

Buds were dry as hell. Acetone was 100% pure. So what do i do next? Is there a youtube video or something i can watch?
