Sunmaster 400 Watt MH imperfections

Hi, I was wondering if someone could clarify something for me. . . I have a Sunmaster 400 Watt Metal Halide conversion bulb I recently purchased for a soon to be arriving Hydrofarm 400 watt HPS ballast. I took it out of the package and gave it a close inspection and I must say it is a mechanical master piece, but under close inspection I noticed a few specs in the glass and the core seems to be partially cloudy on one side (view the picture). My question is, is this common in bulbs and should it be of any concern to me? I'm also wondering if this bulb can be burnt in a vertical position? Any help would be great, Thanks!

P.S> The label on the bulb is faded b/c I took a paper towel and cleaned it with acetone.

My ballast is all wired up and the bulb lights off without any problems. I'm starting to think the cloud is just condensed gas and it goes away when the bulb is fired off.

i just got a hamilton technology 400w true 10k, and the arch tube has scratches on it going all the way round it on. Does anyone have any experience with this?
