SUN vs. HPS

I'm from Hawaii also and planning my first guirrella grow. I was wondering how much days of rain can most strains take before you start to see mold

Dude, man will NEVER be able to beat the bright shinning Sun/Star in the sky. It's fucking ridiculous to hear people claim that a fucking bulb can out do the Sun...How ignorant that thinking is.

let me make it simpler..
if i veg a plant untill its that big, will i get good yields if i place her outside in the sun to flower?
say i veg 2 plants for 3 months under a 250w mh bulb..then i put her outside in the sun..under 12/12 sun light...will i yield a lot if i take good care of the process?

This would never work. The greenhouse would get too hot and need constant venting of the hot air, so the co2 would be a waste.

Why would anyone chose an HPS over the sun??? I personally couldn't care two damns about the "control" of an indoor grow, i'd rather my bud was naturally grown

From my experiance... i've had plants outside dwarf my indoor crops. but also, i've had bigger tighter buds indoor, than my outdoor crops. at different times and im in the Appalachian Mts. I use a 250w HPS with a hortilux bulb ($153.00 total) with added blue spec. and I use 6 - 100w CFL's all daylight color to try and get a full spectrum of light color to try and mimic the sunlight. it also has alot to do with the strain. Indicas prob. wont get very big in hawaii but a sativa could get 12'-15ft. if you vegg it long enough.

But in all honesty you cant beat the sun, if i lived in Hawaii i would use 2- 4 ft tube flouresencent "shop lights", each fixture requires 2 bulbs. veg them indoors and supercrop them keep vegging them until they are monsters and then plant them in the ground, or in 10 gallon+ containers to flower outside. and you will have some massive buds my friend. the bigger the container the more bud you harvest. most people will argue that putting them in the ground is the best way outdoors.

However, you cant really control moisture, nutes, and pests. But if you do that, and cant have big containers with plants growing outta them... then dig a real big hole and line it with a heavy-duty trash bag. fill the bag in the hole with some good potting soil, and poke some holes in the trash bag for drainage, so you dont drown your trees. Also, adding tera-sorb, Soil Moist, or any of those cross linked polymers that absorb water to your soil will prevent over/underwatering. hope I helped... good luck my man.

Control, gives you much better smoke. and sometimes deer and other critters such as ground hogs, and any small mammal will eat buds. Especially, if you have bred ur crop to make seeds. I dont like working and digging holes for nothing. ya feel me? i like organic, but i also like having buds to smoke.

growing geurilla is a different thing to simply growing with the sun. Personally i prefer the idea of naturally grown cannabis in the same way i like free range meat :D

so there you go if you got a 1000 watt producing 110,000 lumens per Sq meter your giving same as sunlight :)) as per lumens

which tubes are you referring to? wattage ? how mamy tubes would u need for 2 to 3 plants and for how long can you veg w/ this light before putting them plants out in the sun

No,. . . he means it would get too hot and you would have to vent it wasting the Co2 because it would be vented out immediately. Not that you don't have ventilation so it would be a waste, . . . *shakes head* some people. Although this is all pointless because you want heat 85-95% when your are running Co2.

You can use those T8s and T12s as well, that was what Hillbilly was talking about.....those ones like you have are not real hot or penetrating so they are great for seedlings and cuttings...for longer veg times like I think your thinking you will want a little stronger light to penetrate deeper into the canopy...the smaller bulbed t5s come in HO and VHO(High output and VeryHO) and are alot stronger than the normal tubes....you can get them in different spectrums too.....hope this helps ...keep grabbing that knowledge

hmmm..i think that i will not find these t5's...but im glad that you helped me...

so if in the future i want to veg first, then set out to flower..i will either get a 400w mh for 4 to 5 plants .. or just cfl's .. like 3 of them highest wattage available 6500K per plant or so...i mean cfl's would do it too for this purpose right?
