Hey big puff wouldn't go 630 due to over heating issues depending on size of reflector heard of 630 failing on one side great for vegging but question is will it produce on the yield current put in a gavita 600 next to the cdm got 2. Weeks of veg left then on to the next stage
I haven't seen anything impressive as far as yeild. I need a new light with in the next 2 weeks. The 630 is pretty inexpensive.

i switched to cmh a few months ago, mine is the 315 watt from boulder lamp.. these things in my opinion are far more eficient than hps, easily getting the gpw, my first run i got 1.2 gpw and that was after knowing nothing about the lamps, now on my second run with cmh i will easily get 1.5 gpw and feel that 1.75-2 gpw is possible with some experience.. if you want check out my journal..

Size of buds is relevant to the strain you're running, feed, grow method, too many variables. I don't grow by size of buds, I grow for a hobby and quality meds in soil with some supplemental feeding, running same strains in hydro would probably produce bigger buds but I'm not interested in that. I don't know if that 630 is equivalent to 1000 hps, haven't done a side by side which would be the only way to know. Just offering what I've seen/experienced and they are much more efficient and watt for watt they beat the shit out of hps, I setup my son to replace his hps watt for watt and he's producing ~25% more on average depending on strain with the same wattage he was running under hps, that's all I know first hand.
Definitely seems like a good alternative to hps. Do you notice a increase in quality? If i can get 16oz dry from my 4x4 with it, i will be very pleased.

2x 315w's wouldn't work in a 4x4 bec

I dont think you could fit two 315's in a 4x4 tent. The 630 would.

Comparing it to my son's hps when he was running it, imo the quality is better, in terms of both terps and frost. 16 oz. dry from a 4x4 with the 630 would be easily done, you could do that in a 3.5 x 3.5 with one 315w, right skills and methods imo.

I might consider that. 3.5 x3.5 would actually fit in my space better. Who makes a 3.5 x 3.5 though?

If you fill that space in a 3.5' cube with the right strain like 4x nice 5gal plants, one 315 can pull a lb. for you, might be worth a try, relatively cheap to get in and cost of operation is close to LED's, cooler than hps as well so easier to dial-in the environment.

Hey @Bad Karma hope your grow's going well, I keep them 20-22", up to 24" if I have a larger footprint like 3.5 x 3.5'. Anything below the 20-22" I've seen bleaching on some strains, like my HSO Blue Dream. Cheers.
Thank you for the info, sir. My girls just stopped stretching, my light can't go any higher, and there's 18" between them. It'll have to do for this grow.

Ill be honest. this sincity's The Rem (white nightmare x bd) might as well have been straight up blue dream. So quality of the majority of the harvest is mid grade. BUT I am working on it and have some genetix coming down the pipeline. I want it all man, yield plus top shelf.
I don't know about that. I saw the bud dude just posted the link too. Looked fucking top shelf to me dude. Would say the blue was just a big part of the huge yield. But those buds that i just saw looked great. Almost as good as you know who's sherbet.

I got a good deal on a 630w today..$850! Be here in a few days! I asked the dude at the dro shop. He said he hadnt herd about the ballast not working, but also said they have a good warranty.
Now im just tossed up about putting two 3100k bulbs in or one 3100k and one 4100k....its primarily for a flower 4x4 tent. We will see.

idk about COB killer but it's not a bad option with a lower cost per watt up front and good performance. I still like LED bud quality better, always comes out top grade. 300w of 3590's should produce the same or more I'd think. May have to test that scenario ;)
can u recomend a plug n go cob light that will cover a 4x4 area, i cant build one but really want to do some testing but need a good one..also i talked to the guy at boulderlamp today we talked about the 3100k agro bulb and the 4200k phillips bulb,, he sais and advised me against using the 4200k bulb..it will work in my cmh but he sais in their testing the 3100k agro bulb performed better in veg and flower,, he advised me to use the 3100k agro bulb in both as the switch from the 4200k in veg to the 3100k in bloom will do nothing as the 3100k agro is simply put a better grow bulb.. his words not mine
