Got the room somewhat situated, got the lights hung properly and filter working (still sitting in corner).....as it turns out the hood I got from HTG leaks air....bad...constant whistle. I swear :cuss:

Anyway, here are the seedlings/youngins:

The ones that showed mild burn are looking better, they have been noted as well for future reference. The trainwreck I am impressed with, big lettuce like leaves. The Ice you can see the different pheno's, will be much more noticeable in a month or so.
That is it for now, another update tomorrow.

Just thought I would share how I tie down my girls when needed.
I used to drill holes in the lips of my pots.....when I purchased a couple hundred dollars worth of pots the thought sickened me. You can pick up the clips at any office supply place.

Will have a real update later today....enjoy your weekend bongsmilie

So Funny, I thought about using those clips if i tied down - I just used some hanging weights instead. Well, a couple weeks into 12 12 and things seem to be working out nicely.

I wanted to ask your opinion on something - I have the two 600's like you but also have an old hydrofarm 400 (hps) that was my bro's. Would it be too much to add that in the tent too and just have it go a few hours of the photo period (maybe 6 in the middle of the day?) The plants on the ends of the tent are way shorter and I wanted to give them a boost by having the three lights.

Hope everyone had a good weekend, spent a few hours at the hydro shop yesterday looking at my hydro options...go figure. I have decided that the next girls that go in to the flower room will be in some form of hydro/aero.....if you are running any of these systems feel free to add your input here or at the thread I started in the hydro section.

Today I evaluated all of the "seedlings" focusing on the Alaskan Ice (from here forward known as AI) as I have 5 females to choose from. I decided to pull #1 and #2 out, they will get transplanted in the coming days and thrown in to the flower room. The others I will grow out, clone, flower clones and determine which pheno I will keep. Same will be done with the cheese and trainwreck after the first run through the flower room.

Group shot, think the seedlings are 20 days since going in the soil and the clone is the same or a day older.

Tomahawk on left, 21 days in flower. Reveg unknown disp. clone from Cali, 37 days in flower.

Will order parts this week for a cloner that I am building (for the hydro switch) as well as 2 55 gallon food grade drums.

Good to hear everything is going well, I will stop by your journal tomorrow....off to bed in a sec.
Actually you and I are on the same wavelength as to the lighting. I am actually going to get another 600 and run 3 in the tent.....I have an old....real old 400w sitting here that I could throw in but I know the temps will skyrocket as it does not have a sealed hood and the ballast is attached. I am actually going to re-wire it soon as I was planning on using it for my veg area and ditching the 300w of floro tubes I am currently using.

I will order the new light/hood in the coming weeks when I order whatever hydro gear I will need.

Toss it in and see how the temps do, I would say use it if they dont spike too bad. Could even just run it for 3-6 hours during your 12/12 if the temps are getting out of control.

Some of the leaves in the photos above got a bit funky, I let them dry out nice and good before the transplant.....should bounce back fine in a day or so.

This update is for last night, camera batteries were dead and by the time they charged I was comatose in front of the idiot box......bongsmilie

Hello all,

All the plants are doing well, not much to report good or bad.

When I was seeing a pain management doctor on a regular basis I met a middle aged women who was severely disabled and disfigured in a car accident (dui driver hit her on the way home from daughters graduation). The way my doctors was set up you were pretty much guaranteed to see most of the same people (other patients) every appointment so I got to know her real well after a while. Anyway long story short, we were both less than thrilled with the pharma solution the doc was providing and I was just harvesting my first run at this new place.....she mentioned that she wished med marijuana was approved for our state. Needless to say one thing led to another and next appointment I brought her in a small sample. I have been providing her meds free of charge since then, tonight she called and her daughter was diagnosed this morning with advanced breast cancer (less than 6 months) and she asked if I could provide for her to help ease the pain until she passes. Anyway, I couldn't say no.....I would feel like a totally prick....but I have some concerns. I had already planned on going larger (to 1800w) so that I could experiment not so much for the extra yield. Unless I drastically change my consumption or stop converting most everything to edibles I am not sure I can hit the target numbers I would need. It isn't an immediate concern as I have plenty of jars stashed away but a concern none the less. Anyway, other than going larger all I can think of is going with a single heavier yielding strain....ideas? I really am not concerned going bigger due to legal reasons, just amount of work and expense as I do not sell anything.

The youngin's are doing well, they really drank up most of the water from the transplant and will need another does tomorrow. Photo's to follow:

tomahawk.jpg

All the clones that recently went in flower all got lollipopped tonight. I do not go real aggressive with the trim as I "process" most of my end product in to edibles and tinctures so a small amount of popcorn is not a big deal.

toma_clones.jpg

The tomahawk girl in flower is doing great, you can see how fast it develops flowers and the node spacing. I really love this strain, great producer, fairly easy to manicure and decent potency.

toma_reveg.jpg

The unknown strain is doing well, thing has a ton of small bud sites....great smoke but not my style as it is a pain to trim. I did notice 1 bud that has 2 seed pods.....it is so far along that I will just leave it. I am sure it is stress related as this plant has been to hell and back. It was re-potted during flower, had a light drop on it, power out for 2 days 1 week in to flower and did I mention it is a re-veg? Anyway, no nanners anywhere on it, probably happened when it was the only thing in flower as the seeds are mature. My first unintended seed production :finger:

Things I decided today:

  • Going ebb/flow tables for sure
  • Doing 4 tables SOG w/perlite and regular pots
  • Adding 2 more 600 watters
  • Adding another sun hut xxl to connect to current one. I plan on hooking the two together length wise and putting in one of the seperator doors. This will give me 12 x 4 x 8 for flower and 4 x 4 x 8 for rez, carbon filter and mothers.

Good thing I have an understanding wife, 600 dollar hobby is turning in to 2-3k real quick.
Hope this finds everyone well

good day to ya shipinit..... i've read your thred from page 1.... crappy luck on the health issues, totally happy for ya that good old Mary Jane works for ya.
my wife and i are pressently looking into med use and grow rights..... but alas.... central canadian laws just don't want to relent for us or many others..... we both smoke but like our edibles, and i might have to find out how you make the tincture, sounds good..... but for another time....

as for looking to simplify everything as much as possible, thats my aim too, but for reasons of too much work outside the grow, and i'm the only tender of my crops..........

after doing lotza research and trial and error, i have found that using Aerophonics seems to be by far the eaciest and all around eacier to handle (wieght wize)..... getting the chems in the rez seems to be the biggest worry, but seems to be eacy enough once ya get the mix right... you can run them totally mediumless or use clay pellets wich can be reused after washed and baked if needed.....

thats the way i'm going in a few months, gonna get all the parts built up and DIY, but they can be bot online for somewhat decent prices...

and them there little lady's you got looking some healthy! keep it up!

P.S. imo.... i understand and agree with the reasons you helping your lady friend..... but i must say, and remeber this is only IMO, seems fishy to me she finds out bout her daughter's health issues and calls you before the day is done?
You are ONE Hell ova Good person for helping her out, but i think you getting Used now, back track thro your own thread, how can You handle the extra load, and at your cost and time free to others, and there children?.....
Again, only IMO.......

That is very compassionate and selfless act. If we all took such good care of our neighbors the world would be a much kinder place to live.

thanks for stopping by.
Good advice as far as aero is concerned. I am still doing my research but it is down to ebb/flow or aero. Was thinking ebb flow with 4 seperate trays so that I could move plants easily rather than changing resevoirs all the time. We shall see.

As for your concern.....same alarm bells went off in my head. All is on the up and up, I met with the daughter this morning....she is not well. I expressed the concerns that I had (more production, more work, etc) and we all came to the conclusion that it wasn't feasable....at least for me to provide. What I agreed to do was provide her 20 grams a week until I can find her another provider. In my state a gift of 20 grams or less is punishable by a 100 ticket...thus the 20 grams. I am involved with NORML as well as ASA so it shouldn't be hard to find someone willing to help her out....whether they "gift" it to her is another story....oh well....best I could do.

Just trying to do what I can. I was one of the fentanyl statistics last year. They had me on the 100 µg/h patch as well as oxy's for breakthrough pain.....last spring a new patch I put on burst without me knowing and I spent 2 days in a coma and 3 weeks in the hospital. When I got out I informed my doc that I wanted off all meds, asap....he said it wouldn't be beneficial for me. So....in my infinite wisdom and hard headedness I quit cold turkey. So, anything I can do to help others from having to deal with the PHARMA solution I will. I have no priors, mid 30's in a de-criminalized state.....I have nothing but probation to fear.

Thanks for stopping by....what pheno's of the ice did you have? Out of the 5 females I have there are 4 unique phenos.....really think this strain is a few generations away from a proper public release.

Good news bad news update:

Bad news: The two older girls I had in flower I chopped last night
The one I knew hermied on me but decided to leave it initially as I saw no other nanners. Last night I saw some male bits on the tomahawk mother in flower....don't want to risk the other 18 in the room so I bagged them, shutdown all airflow in my place and axed them. The tomahawk was only 3+weeks in, I just shredded her and it hit the dumpster. The other one was 7 weeks in, it was rough trimmed, bagged and it will be turned in to something. I didn't even bother to hang it I was so disgusted....it will get the paper bag treatment like any ugly chick

The good news: There is proper room in the flower room now. Yeah, that is all I can hang my hat on.

Other news, we had some terrible ass people move in above us....they pace all day and night (meth heads I think) and are bringing unwanted attention to the building. The wife and I decided to find another place and break our lease here. Financially it even makes sense as the housing market has tanked and we will end up ahead even with losing our current deposit. I found a great space (5000 sq ft warehouse), 3 phase and 220v, loading bay as well as retractable door (can pull the vehicle inside the unit, stealth unloading of gear and supplies) and a absentee owner (lives cross country). I should know tomorrow if it is a go. It is split as a live/work unit so it has full bath and kitchen.....should work perfect if the terms are agreable.

Hope everyone had a good weekend :joint:

Wow, glad to hear you are trying to turn this into a positive. 5,000 sqft - I'm bringin my tent and squatting!
I found out a long time ago life is about how many times you can get kicked in the nuts and get back up. It's funny when you have a kind of "oh well" attitude like I do things kind of fall in your lap.....I explain below.

Yeah, I have 3 distinct phenos that I will see out plus more fem. seed that I haven't sprouted. I am looking for that in between, the hybrid that they pitch. I would love to grow full sativas but space and flower time isn't worth it for me presently. My wife has been on me to grow at least a few sativa dominant plants for her to enjoy, the ice was supposed to be a compromise. Time will tell I guess.
A silver lining.

Stop by my journal, I finally got some of it up.
did and done, subscribed as well. Will continue to check it regularly....nice setup :hump:

Well, quick non picture update....kind of a good with the bad type deal. My current landlord called me this morning at 8 sharp. Told me the neighbors will be gone by the end of the week, wanted to know if we wanted to take their unit (its bigger, top floor with its own separate air conditioned shop ) for the remainder of our lease at the same rate. An hour later my wife calls and tells me 2 of the attorneys in her "work group" were let go along with 3 dozen others within the building. She is in a meeting as I type with the firm bean counter, managing partner as well as some schmuck from HR.....doesn't look good. So where is the good? If she is let go/laid off or whatever they are calling it at this point (she already gave up bonus last year, then pay freeze this year, then 10% salary cut which was pitched as an alternative to laying people off) we will sell off everything we own and move back to the west coast and away from this god forsaken place...../end rant

Anyway.....as always take the good with the bad, roll with the punches.....bla bla bla......I will feel terrible for my wife.....but.....secretly, deep down I hope she gets axed......I want to move :?

Either way we are moving, either up one floor or 2000 or so miles....whichever happens I will document the tear down and move as I have done this a few times before. Will know sometime this evening either way....stay tuned
