Suggestions to replace 4 600w hps’s with leds

Would someone please be able to suggest a good option to replace my 600w hps’s with leds. Not really wanting to go full blown and spend thousands if I can get away with it. Around 1000 would be ideal

Why led over HPS?

Cheap white light led may not do as well as the hps
Good white light LED will for sure cost more than $1000, well Alibaba could be less I guess, but not familiar with their stuff

Diy is an alternative asssss well

Heat issues mate. Currently running 8 inch outtake and 6 inch intake on full and with it getting hotter I can’t have my lights on 600w or the heat goes over 33 degrees C. If I drop to 400 then I can get them sitting around 30/32 c

That's why I changed from HPS to QBs

Look into hlg lights, budget led. Great top end stuff
My lights are diy hlg bds

Mars, Viperspectra,Syderfarmer have cheaper, older diods that are decent for the price

Just keep in mind. The spread or coverage of the light is important

A 12"x9" bd will cover aprox 6" out on each edge of the bd very well, then it diminishes depending on the height, but too high, it diminishes everywhere

Not to sure what you mean by hlg bds pal I’m new to all this lol, what kind of money are you looking at to make your own? I don’t mind a challenge could be an option

HLG.. horticultural lighting Group

Bds = boards. Quantum Board

Like these

Easy to save $200-500 on lights for your space if you build them yourself

Happy days thanks I’ll look into this, out of Interest for my current situation, do you think I’m better turning my lights down to 400 and running a 30c temp or having the at 600 and it pushing 33/34c. I’m around 3 weeks into flower leaves look ok atm and not to much curling up on the ends or any wilting. Just wondering what’s gonna work best to get me through to harvest without stressing them the most.

Are u running hoods with your lights?

What's the ambient temp where u pump air into the room?
Where does the air exhaust too?

100f is freaking hot

I live in the surface of the sun, when I ran hps in summer it would get to 90+, and that was too hot

Air is being blown out of the room im in and air is being drawn in from another room with the window open. No hoods with lights currently. I was thinking about it but then thought if I’m going to pay 400 for some hoods may aswell go the extra mile and get leds.

Vented Hoods help A LOT!!!!

pump cool air in, thru the hoods, out of the room

May drop temps by 10f easy, assuming air in is below 78f or so

How I ran my system. Changing to LED dropped mine by 10f

I still run upwards of 84f in summer and no issues at all

HPS is still better than most cheap white light LED

Unless u go with higher end Boards and Diods for that space, may be better to fix your environment 1st
