Sugar Daddy and Magiccal stinks....as in smelly

So I'm hitting my big mama with a last burst of Sugar Daddy and Magiccal. It ends tonight and I begin the last four days of flush.(This is all per Technaflora's reccomendation) In the meanwhile I thought I'd share that it smells NASTY.

Shouldn't be that surprising as it smells nasty even when it's in the bottle.

I've been delaying on putting together my own carbon scrubber but this has convinced me to put my but in gear. Jesus.

have you been using the sugar daddy through the whole 12/12 period???

Id like to use this, heard it packs on weight and flavour, also, smells like what?? shit?? or stanky weed??

well, it's a really progressive schedule. I used it earlier but it's at a really low rate. Like 2 tsp's per gallon. But for the last 3 days before flush they have you up the rate to 8 tsp per gallon, 1/2tsp magical per gallon, and nothing else.

they even recommend that you use it in veg at lower rates. I didn't use it at that time as I didn't know about it.

it's hard to describe the smell once you've been sitting in it for a while. but it's overwhelmed two floors of the house. it's not skunky. it's just a bit off-putting. kind of like dirty gym socks and mold together?

if you buy it in a hydro shop, just crack the lid. it doesn't smell good even then.

unfortunately since this is my first grow, I doubt that the results will really show what the nutes can do. I've made a few mistakes and I'm not using quality seeds. Perhaps in a month or two I'll start out some of my good seeds and see what I can do. In the meanwhile I've got a nice little perpetual harvest started.

Sounds like a kelp product. Is it inky dark brown or black?

surprisingly no. I know what you mean. The Thrive Alive B1 that Technaflora sells is made of that stuff. And it smells a bit but seems pretty damn effective.

This stuff is almost like the color of piss after a 6 hour hike. Not renal failure orange, but sort of like that.

Now I'm into flush and the house smells much nicer. I just wish I knew if I was supposed to change the water in the res each night during flush or just the one time.

yes it is a kelp product, been using it since week 2 of veg, smells a lil fishy so i just put towel over the opening on nute barrel cover took care of constant smell, still smell hint of it during water cycle but its not bad at all, seems to be doin pretty good though!
