Your using the right stuff and mixing it with warm water desolves it quick. I have used Sucannat (unrefined cane sugar) for years. Switched from molasses, easyer to use and tastes better. You can find it at health food stores , I got tired of buying 1 or 2 pound bags for 5 $ each and now they order me a 25 pound bag for 50$. used for organic cooking also.

By the way Molasses is sugar.

Molasses is a viscous byproduct of the processing of sugar cane or sugar beets into sugar.

Sucanat is basically granular molasses. I use blackstrap molasses but I'm sure sucanat will work just as well.
