Substitute for Gravity?

I ve seen a lot of growers give their early flower plants with high PK, its recipe for dropping leaves and reduce yield. It will be best thing for you to conitune feed your flowering plants with veg nutes all the way to the harvest. Dont believe this myth that high N in the end of flower stage will cause bad taste, Its totally BS and its up to the drying and curing method that will bring best taste and smooth.

good luck.

It's laughable when people think it's totally normal for their leaves to turn yellow and fall off 20 days into flowering, as if that's a sign of ripening and enhanced flower development.

Just proved this to be absolutely TRUE, Maybe just to myself. But using veg nutes till the end produced MORE yield, MORE smell, MORE taste, MORE trimming work. LESS cost to grow.happier plants with no issues.

General Organics has a good line if your looking for something of that nature that doesn't have all the carcinogens in it. I use to use that gravity crap at one point a while back and found out all about it and ended up yielding a shit ton more when I stopped using it, and better looking and tasting too.

Which carcinogens are you talking about specifically?

It has some plant growth regulator in it called paclobutrazol, It retards/stunts the plants growth inhibiting it to produce certain growth hormones. Its also used as a fungicide. Anyways it doesn't say what the PGR carcinogens turn into but it says its a PAN bad actors which means its listed as a toxic chemical. So disregard I said carcinogens and shpuld of said PGR's.

I grew out O. Haze outdoors, the original pure sativa hybrid, and treated it at least 3 times with Paclo found in a product called Bonzi. Others have used Bonzi and none of us have had any health issues. It's like the GMO myth. I'd like to know the connection between a product that messes with a plant's hormones that translates into a direct effect on personal health. IOW, show me the science. Gravity contained other active ingredients too that may play a part.

BTW, the shortening affect of Paclo on the Haze was incredible. The internodes were about 20% of they normally are for such a sativa. I know of no fungicidal properties regarding Paclo.

Really? The gmo myth? How many countries have banned these substances? You want the science? Put down the dabber and search google... "gmo health studies". I understand the climate change deniers, but this? Really? What are you some kind of montsanto shill? Brother the best advice i can give you... Put all your plants in miraclegro, be sure and use lots of ddt on them. "show me the science"? Lol. Show yourself. Educate fool.

I have no problem with Monsanto like I've said a million times before. Get off the organic propaganda rag.

Here are the facts, not the feelings.

There is alot of evidence to show that since the growth of GMOs, more and more people are having allergic reactions to crops like corn. Hard to get good research done when all the money is on the GMO side. In all reality, America is a giantnlab and we are all guinea pigs on what the real impact is.

As a foodie, some organic products are tastier than their conventional counterparts. Potatoes and tomatos come to mind. But to be a good comparison, both need to be at the same stage of ripeness. Meat, dairy and eggs as well.

I know there isva diff when my conservative, raised on a farm father-in-law comes to my house, eats an organic egg andcsays that is what he remembers them being like as a kid.

Wow at those first two pages...

Love the "just grow betters!!!!" answers. Absofuckinglutely brilliant.

Welcome to RIU.

The PGR in Gravity that "does the magic" is Paclobutrazol.

An ORGANICALLY DERIVED equivalent to paclo. is TRIACONTANOL (write that down kiddies from the first two pages, so you don't answer so terribly on this subject next time).

It is found NATURALLY in alfalfa and farmers have been using it as a PGR for centuries, if not longer.

Many products have it present.

Sucks you had to wait a few months for someone to actually help...

Sucks to know I have talked about triacontanol for years in a hundred posts including my custom soil mix.

It is not a PGR in the sense that it shortens internodes and induces stunting.

That explains why when I use it, my plants don't stretch three times their height at the beginning of flower like they do when I don't use it.

Also...

*clicks on pages two and three*
*ctrl-f*
"triacontanol"

*no results found*

It's great that you mention it a lot.

Why didn't you mention it at all in this thread?

My friends and I started using Golden Tree by humboldts secret about 8 months ago and we think it works as good if not better than Gravity, and a little cheaper too. Bummer Gravity had those PGR's that got it banned

paclobutrazol and tricontinal are not even close to equivalent.
Paclo stops stretch and tightens buds tricontinol does neither
but works great with
paclobutrazol since it tends to add resin and enhance trichomes.

Paclobutrazol is good stuff on some strains when used intelligently.
It is in fact still used on some isolated food crops. The people telling you
to just learn how to grow in fact probably should be the ones learning.
General hydroponics sells paclobutrazol and if you want to run the same ppm as
the gravity the contents of gravity can be found by searching. The results
of content tests on gravity are online and were done by California department
of agriculture. paclobutrazol is available commercially and can be purchased online
bosai etc..

I have found paclo used any time during stretch is efective and stops it cold
it is also effective at about 4weeks of flower for super tight buds even on a sativa.
To much of it is bad so just be smart about it. I don't always use it but I certainly have
and many times and guess what suckers I know how to grow!

Ummmm id like you to point me to the ppm of PBZ in gravity in this forum as per mixed by directions ratio? Ive searched for weeks to try and run a simulation of just the active ingredient and it is no where to be found???

I am concerned that no grower has stated this that has ever used gravity!

On topic... you wont be able to replicated the exact same affect PBZ has but using certain ratios of Kelp and Tria may just 1, cause root stimulation deminishing stretch and 2, creating a stimulated photosynthesis enviroment that will increase something called trichs... or so i have heard ;)

The people asking about these additives generally have yellow plants with very few leaves left.

This is the nutrients section, not the advanced growing section. Hormones are not nutrients.

The posts on the first few pages (including mine) make sense. Focus on growing healthy plants before worrying about clever tricks.

Intuition alone would tell you that since very few people use hormones or advice using it, that it probably isn't that important or useful. That intuition could be wrong, but with your attitude, it's hard to even care about what your point is.

1 Mililiter divided by 3785 (mililiters in a gallon) =2.642007926023778e-4
x 516ppm= .136ppm or when mixed at the recommended 2 milliliters per gallon which is a fairly strong dose you get .272 ppm

1ppm = 1 miligram per liter so if my math is correct it should be .27 milligrams of pure paclo per liter final mix

1ppm= 0.0038 grams per US gallon

1ppm= 8.345 pounds per million gallons of water

I believe pure paclo may need to be dissolved in something other than water before used
