substitute for coffee filters?

this last week i have been doing small runs of turning hash into oil, via iso extractions. however i found that alot of stuff escapes through my little ss strainer i use flipped around and over the mouth of the jar when pouring into my coffee filters. and it takes for ever for this shit to filter and sometimes im pretty sure stops altogether. is there a specific micron filter i could order and make my own style filters out of, in place of coffee filters? would something like 25mic work?

thanks guys

I had originally tried bubble hash then said screw it i'm making BHO....when it came time for filtering i just used my 25micron bubble bag screen, i also have a 10"x10" 25micron screen. Works great for me and i feel like they absorb less than coffee filters.

so you used your drying/pressing screen as a filter... interesting. I wonder if that would filter plant waxes or not.

We filter waxes with a large commercial sized coffee filter in a large stainless coffee filter holder for small quantities and vacuum filter with a #1 Whatmann lab filter for larger quanties.

25 micron it is then, prolly order tonite or tommorow, ill do a test for you guys, ill filter it through the micron and then again through a coffee filter to see if that catches anything, should be able to see whatever given its a white background

I used a 25micron filter during my initial butane filtering, ss screen over the 25 mircon screen. Then used the 25 micron screen after winterizing and it def picks up waxes, not sure if all of them but a lot for sure.

how many micron is a paper coffee filter?

They are not absolute filters, so the pore size isn't constant, but probably average about 20/25 micron. Of course as soon as any filter's pores start to clog, their micron rating goes down from the filtrate cake coating it.
