First, thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge. I have been alone in my adventures with marijuana and so it is only because of people like you that I find out the secrets of this discipline. I just picked up your book, Dank, and have just cracked it open to see what's inside. I look forward to reading every word. The pictures are amazing. My wife wants to know if any special lighting or coloration was done to your photo's, or if your plants are actually that vibrant?
On the subject of organics...I have read Soma's organic book, and till this point have used Soma's soil exclusively. I only have grown seeds from Soma Seeds and Serious Seeds. All have done very well. I would really be honored to try some of your strains sometime--just don't know how to acquire them. Anyway, Everything has worked fabulously, but I have not achieved the color or size of the buds you present in your book. What intrigues me about your method is that you already have everything in the soil, and only use water. I would much prefer that method (to only add water the whole life of the plant) to save the "guess work" and hassle of adding nutes to the water. Therefore, I would really like to give your method a shot.
I have not gone through all the pages of this thread at this point, so my apologies if I am asking something you have already answered. Feel free to point me to that link, or just copy/paste to save your time.
First, when you finish mixing your soil and you let it sit for 30 days min, do you keep it covered and in the trash bins shown in the photos? What if temperatures drop below freezing? Is this a problem? Does the soil just sit in water (like mud) or do you allow the water to drain out? It seems there would be issues if you left it muddy, but I am sure there is something I don't understand clearly.
Secondly, when you grow from seed (I don't use cuttings as I don't grow year round) do you use 100% Root's soil for the germination and beginning veg phase of the plant? (I have had exceptional results with all Roots products) How tall (in nodes) do you allow the plant to grow before you transfer it to the "hot" soil (mixed with 30-40% Roots soil of course) typically--I know all strains are different, but do you have an average?
Finally, thank you, thank you so much for helping a person like me learn so much about this plant. It has transformed my wife's life and given her hope, joy, and inspiration to really live. She is the reason I went down this path originally. It is because of guys like you, and Soma, that a nubie like me had any hope of doing this with any measure of success. I really hope to meet you someday and shake your hand.
