dear sub love the soil recipe and i desire your strains. thanks for all your help on RIU and makeing dreded organics easier to understand.I have grown many some diffrent seeds from the tude which is usually barely can keep your gems instock i am from michigan were only a year deep into our medical program and i am currently a caregiver. i have herd alot of places in cali accept are cards to. i am planing to make a trip out there to bring back clones becuase i want not just the best strains but the best phenotypes of those strains and with michigan so new to the out and open mmj program not many good jilly's or urkels or any good purples are around. let alone coveted grape apes and sour d. where do you recomend finding clones of yours at in a cali dispensary. the other reason i want clones is because of how hard it is with plant counts not wanting female seeds that might have tendencies to hermie easier than if selected from a reg pack and not haveing the resources to sort phenos out to find the best mother.

thank you so much for your guidance on this

I do not ever recommend buying clones.
Not only are they generally mis-labeled but most times come infested with mites or mildew or worse.
I suggest you read all you can about selection and start from seed finding the traits that suit your medical need.

Sub I would just like to say thank you for sharing your knowlage and for all the time and effort you put in too helping out! I want to try your SS with my new beans DEEP PURPLE and QUERKLE... I know that the soil is alive and that the chlorine in tap water could be harmfu to the soil web, my questions are ?
1...will it be safe to use tap water if i fill a barrel up and let it sit for a couple days befor using it ?
2...what should the ph of the water be ?
3...i know this is a little off topic but should these sirains be topped, if so at what node would you suggest ?

Thank you!

Yes water left sitting will loose its clorine I add a air stone to help the process.
I like to see my water at 6.5 ph

You can read my thread here on topping just look in my section for detailed info.

Sub, Awesome recipe! Ive been using it for just under a year. Great results:) My question is. My 3 local hydro shops do not carry Azomite. I have ran out. Would Greensand do the trick? I have found Azo about 100 miles away. Should I make the trip. I need to start baking ASAP, so shipping is not an option. Thx in advance.

dude find a different thread for that. you think sub gives a fuck bout ur trip to cali. go to LA and get jacked for your money dumbass. u honestly thinki ur gonna find clones? cmon dumbass do u even know anyone there?? need connections for that, u cant just walk up and buy clones.
Wooo someone woke up on the wrong side today. Get jacked in LA.. LOL I am a skinny white boy and have no problems walking the street, its all about holding your own.

I agree with not buying clones from a dispensaries, but if you do trust the place, make sure to throughly inspect the clones to make sure they are pest free. There is a local clinic that always have a few types of OG (true OG)

It can just be hit or miss when they are fully stocked up.

If you really need help when you get to Cali, shoot me a PM and I can try to guide you to some nice places.

I am not sure though if the cards work through out states. There have been allot of company's selling fake recommendation around here, so they may be a little weary of letting a out of state licence through, but I could be 100% wrong.

Good luck.

Don't ever fuck with clones, unless you absolutely have to - some strains are clone-only(Albert Walker, my fav, being one of them). I inspected all of my clones and still ended up with powdery mildew. Clones are generally labeled correctly in my experience but I've seen a few that were obviously wrong(100% indica strains showing thin, long leaves). It all depends on the dispensary you join. Watch out for guys in hoodies. I really don't know what freddog23 is talking about - you don't need to know someone, just be a patient.

Letting tap water sit usually lets off most of the chlorine - unless your local water provider has switched to chloramines. Most haven't yet, but according to Wikipedia the numbers are increasing.

Your H2O pH is also affected by your soil pH and the needs of the strain. My Roots soil had a higher pH than normal so I tend to make my water around 5, sometimes less. With soil though it's pretty flexible - the water's pH isn't going to change your soil environment dramatically over a month or so.

I always aerate the water, but not for chlorine(I use RO water). MJ loves oxygen around it's roots so you should always aerate.

Azomite seems to be a really hard concept for people to grasp. Just go look at the Azomite site and read the chemical analysis. That's what you're missing if you don't use Azomite. Greensand isn't Azomite. If you really want to avoid Azomite, try looking at glacial rock dust and/or diatomaceous earth(good silicon source, IMHO). Azomite isn't magic, it's just a good source of trace elements and silicon.

To whoever it was who wanted to add ferts to his subcool grow: I've been adding Roots Buddha bloom as needed because my girls got a bit too large(too long in veg, no trimming, long story). It'll work fine as long as you don't over-do it, but then you're not really doing a subcool grow anymore, are you? I wouldn't add additional nutes unless you need to. If you need to, then do it. Just start really slowly and be on the lookout for signs of overfertilizing.

Sorry to answer for you Sub, but I couldn't resist.

Air stones also help oxygenate the water.

And I just wanted to point out, that when growing with an organic program; pH really shouldn't be a concern.

RO water should have no noticeable amounts of chlorine.

ok so this might sound stupid but i just wanna be safe and not destroy my plants if i use ffof 1/2 and 1/2 ff lw as a base for the super soil and then dig my wholes 3x3 and put the super soil in the bottom 75% of the whole and just ffof and fflw in the top 25% of the whole will that work well or not i wass gonna just use a 2 to 1 ffof to fflw and add some perlite to the mix but i really like ur super soil results from the forum what do u guys think

I think you would burn your plants into oblivion. I also think your base soil alone would hold you back, as it may the wrong ratio of nutes for your young plant. Are you using clones or seedlings? Read this entire thread buddy, don't be lazy -- I've done it twice, and its amazing how much detail Sub goes into on how to do this correctly. If you change even ONE THING that he tells you, don't expect the same results. Growing good cannabis isn't for the impatient, lazy, or corner-cutters. Not trying to be rude, just trying to help.

Well, I'm not Subcool, but I may be able to point you in the right direction. If you have your heart set on the FFOF and FFLW, then I'd go 2 to 1 and use that as the base soil, or cut your 1 to 1 blend with some sand and worm castings, or something else light or on the nitrogen side. Also, if you're growing outside in 3 X 3 holes, I'd still only go halfway with the super soil. The few guys in this thread that mentioned outdooor grows said the SS worked great, so you should be cool at halfway with a nice ending fade. Did you acquire ALL of the ingredients for the SS? Even the smaller, hard to find ingredients, like the azomite and humic acid? Those are just as important to get the right consistency and nutes in the mix to get the results you'll want. Trust me, if you half-ass it, the paranoia and lack of peace of mind will haunt you during the entire life cycle of the grow.

Hell yeah, Oregon's the shit brotha! Go Ducks!! I lived in Portland a couple years ago, and I plan to move back soon. I love the O. Still got all my buddies in stumptown. But yeah, I'll keep up with your grow. I'm starting one up in a week or so, TGA Vortex. I'm going to make a thread with pics to keep the forum updated on progress. As for the soil, Subcool recommends "Roots Organic." I can't get there where I'm at now, so I have to mix a couple different types that are available here, but I know for a fact that Oregon carries Roots all over the state. You should check into that before you start up, if you're interested.
